Debate: Enact Law to Enlist Girls for NS (Non-Military)?

Hi,I know this topic has been discussed before but I wanna bring it back again.
Should Singaporean girls be enlisted for NS?They can learn some skills in the training sessions and maybe also learn how to defend themselves in times of need.They can also fill up the manpower gap in the SAF and learn how to live with people of different backgrounds,races and cultures.Malaysia is already doing it.
I always told my wife that it was a pity that she did not go for NS cos if she did,she would have learnt a lot of life skills and be more independent.You can guess what was her reaction.

Girls can do clerical work also what in army airforce or navy, serve in civil defence or police.

My wife said NS is the role of men and she would not even want to go thru it.I told her if all the men died in the war,how would she defend herself.Even lionesses know how to defend their families.I still feel women need to go for NS given the quality of youngsters we have nowadays.That would do them a world of good.

Women would be a grand waste of space and tax dollars in the army.

I agree with what Rooney07 said.....They could fill up the backroom jobs in the military.

Can come in as nurses as there is an acute shortage in here.
No guys like to be a soldier, so NS makes them one.
Likewise no gal like to be nurse, NS can make them one too.
Come in handy as Total Defence, if emergency all the FT nurses won't stay back and back up Sg.

Giving birth is a woman role in a family.Women should be keepers of the homes and a proud mother to her children. :) -

How about we enrol the kids as well? Then they can have daycare centres in every camp and daddys and mummys wont be worried about leaving their kids with FT. Win Win. And the kids can be nutured in the ways of the army from young such that they'll all be commando trained when they reached 18? -

Enrolling the kids, and not all kids are intellectually enabled, some of them are born with deficiencies, Be it physically or mentally.

Doesn't anyone think that asking women to serve might just delay them having babies? I mean nowadays women insist on having a stable career finance blah blah before settling down and having a kid. Won't asking them to serve push everything back by 2 years?

it is a shame for women to enter military training as that would drain the resources of our country for nothing value added....
it would be economically wiser to enrol them for Mandatory Civil Service for Women - towards aiding elders, handicapped, nursery etc. - this would reduce foreign influx, training better mothers and wives, lower costs to the tax payers...

with the rise of an aged population, we need such mandatory civil service to minimize the need for foreign influx..
men serve their national military service....women serve in the civil service..

we are already backward in innovative education until recently when traditional one way track academic success has entrapped many potentials leading them towards migration..
now...do not let a biased gender system in favour of women takes the toll of leading to a extreme feministic domineering system....women can do even proud for the mandatory civil service inculcating more feminine characteristics of caring for the elderlies, handicapped, etc...
i have mentioned this so many times...

I say fuck the idea.
1. Half the population / half of every couple is disadvantaged compared to FT. If girls are enlisted, only FTs will laugh.
Imagine not only you but your wife marching off in uniform 2 weeks a year. Venture a guess, what does your FT neighbour think when he sees this?

2. NS = extra and punishments. Even among guys, punishments are unfair. As you know, a girl doesn't need a single cent to bribe a superior.
