NS: Do Guard Duty on Public Holiday = Earn 1 Off Day?

  i recently pop-ed and have been posted to an inf. unit so do forgive me if i seem a little clueless about guard duties.

  i've been assigned to do guard duty on the upcoming hari raya, which falls on a sunday so will i get an additional off-day? since the others book-in on monday, do i book-out after my duty and book-in on tuesday? thank you.

  yes, regardless if PH falls on weekday/ weekend, a PH is a PH. Therefore, you will earn a 1 off day which you are choose to keep for later use on any day within 1 - 3 months or so.

  if you want to use the off day, better inform your immediate superior. if not, you might considered as AWOL if you just book out and then come back another day later...

  wah... now so good, my time no such thing.

  I CNY on duty for 2 days also no replacement off.

  CO say, NSF working hour if needed is 24/7 365days...

  Actually I think such things are unit policy.

  Directive: unlike weekend duties, duty on PH or weekend PH comes with off. Some units however are more or less generous eg no off, or double off for CNY.

  Best use the off soon. It is easily burnt for something minor by those in a bad mood.

  Or at least avoid getting caught for anything stupid or minor until you've spent your off.
