If Return to SG as a Foreigner, Will I Get Caught for NS?

Hi All,
I am over 45 years old, have taken on a citizenship outside of Singapore (outside of Asia and the British Commonwealth union countries) and have renounced my Singapore citizenship already. I left Singapore soil >20 years ago with a NS disruption nearing my ORD and an exit permit (non-renewal).What are the scenarios if I return to Singapore, assuming that ICA could flag me by my date of birth?

I think so. Unless you have some special talents of use to Singapore.

did u change ya name after u get rid of SG citizenship, if so the change name reflected in your new passport, make it difficult for ICA to identify you

Read up Teo Chee Hean's statement on the penalties that Mindef will advocate for NS defaulters of different ages:
- Where the default period exceeds two years but the defaulter is young enough to serve his full-time and operationally ready NS duties in full, MINDEF will press for a short jail sentence.
- Where the defaulter has reached an age when he cannot serve his full-time NS in a combat vocation or fulfil his operationally ready NS obligations in full, a longer jail sentence to reflect the period of NS he has evaded may be appropriate.
- Where the defaulter has reached an age when he cannot be called up for NS at all, a jail sentence up to the maximum of three years may be appropriate.
Obviously Melvyn Tan the pianist (google his case) was in the last category, but he got a mere fine. There was noexplanation other than the above.
Having disrupted, I'm not sure if you're considered a serviceman or a civilian, and therefore a deserter or defaulter respectively.
Look, you should just visit friends and family and enjoy the food in JB. I'm not sure what value you see in coming back to Singapore.

did TS finish his NSF and get a disruptions all the way till SG citizenship tio renounced? if so ur quite safe. As long u did ya NSF in full and got remember to every year apply for exit permit(dun miss doing it even for once!), he should be safe.

If you like prison food, you can try return to Singapore.

Served over 2 years NSF, disrupted to meet university start date. No exit permit renewal.

oh u disrupted DURING NSF...then u better start arranging trips to JB to meet up with ya family and frens in SG.
