i just pop.....finished the 24km...
at the end of the 24km mine last toe hurts, alot i asked around but others complain about the usual spots, the heels ,the ball of the feet which ...are normal..
i think i have wide feet, mine toes are crooked,so they tend to fan up,i wear a size 10 now,the other day i went down to the chervons to try the 11,the width is ok but....the length of the boots is too long for me,i dun feel right about it.....mine leg measures only 27cm...
is it advisable to switch to a larger pair of boots? ....
lao jiao,give me some advice? : )
get bigger boots....if u cant.then you can soften the leather by soaking area with water....stuff lots of paper until the whole boot end bloat up like a basket ball giving you more space for your toe issue.leave boot with boot paper stuffings for a day until water is dried.never tried it so dunno if it will work.but theoretically it should work.
maybe internet gort better proven tips.
think best go get abnother bigger pair.no point wasting time on an old boot.
changing is not going to help you. the ratio/proportion of all boots are roughly the same. bigger boot means wider sole, yes. but length how?
too big also not good for your feet right?
fresh army boots is like this lah. must wear around half a year before it can be seasoned properly and comfortably.
for now just lan lan suck it up. use more padding/plasters etc lor. you can also add one more layer of insole.
Ok dude, each size of PT shoes comes in width 2E and 4E. Check if boots have 2 widths as well.
Second, wait for your posting day. If you get posted to a service vocation, wearing those boots won't matter. Save the $100+ for something else.
The goretex boots is lighter and more cooling but does it help or not? I'm not so sure. New boots always a bit more hard that's why people always wear only one boots in BMT so to season the boots faster, the other pair only for parade as it's look newer. FYI, the goretex one is not cheap, if I'm not wrong it's about 20-30 bucks more ex than the normal leather one.

Lemon is right about everything.
Well they were using M-4 while SIR units were using M-16. They switched to SAR-21 later than SIR units (3-4 years ago). Just hang on to your boots, even within your AI unit there are different postings.
I think the larger Gore-Tex boots come in 2 widths but the local leather boots do not. The Gore-Tex are lighter and cooler but less durable, will crack under heavy usage, especially when moist, and let the water in. I didn't mind water getting in my boots so I went with the Gore-Tex.

my old boots (those really really old type) last me from my BMT to my 7th year ICT. I bought a new pair of boots on my 7th ICT.. it spoiled when i go for my last ICT this year.. imagine only wear for one high key (2 weeks) and 2 low key (5 days) and the boots spoiled?
if want to buy larger size boots, then find thicker socks....

It's normally tougher but still does it made any difference if you felt scared? C'mon, as long as you did your best. Nothing to be afraid. Btw I think your luck in vocation is really bad. Armour Inf Trooper........wah.....personally I think more siong than infantry.
