Hi, just have some question to ask,
I just grad from poly am enlisting on Jun 5, didnt pass my napfa due to me skipping the 2.4 cause of certain heart problems and also not able to do pull up due to my weak arms. Last feb went for body checkup and they gave me PES B just like that. As my heart show no problem, but i just cannot take long dist runs as i really will have difficulty catching my breathe.
Just want to ask afew questions

2) What kind of bag is suitable?
3) Instead of family go can i ask my fren or partner to follow?
4) Washing facilities is handwash for our clothes?
5) What kind of bunk we will be in?
6) And if during the PTP training, i really cant do the pull ups and run 2.4 keep like same prob happen what should i do?
Roughly these are the question

Roughly these are the question
1) don't pack so much because BMT u'll are required to book out in your full pack
2) since you are not bringing a lot, a small back pack with your daily usage things like toothb brush/paste, underwears etc.....
3)I'm sure you can but why don't bring your family?
4)Just a couple of shirts here and there. Use hand lah.
5)Bunk? normal king koil mattress bed lah...no air con.
6)keep doing until u get some results, or else stay back for RT.
Nowadays which coy is the most siong?
Which school is better?
Hi,
I am enlisting on the 5th of September. But however I have some issues with my knee as they tend to hurt whenever I walk around, not neccessarily when I do rigorious exercises and activities such as squats would really hurt my knee. I have seen my local doctor and done several X-rays on my knee, but to no avail. My doctor recommends me to do a MRI, which is expensive, to further diagnose the problem.
I am not sure whether I should head down to CMPB to have my medical condition revaluated as my date of enlistment might be pushed back.
What further action is recommended?

As usual, please refer to this guideline:

Ok this is really late/ irrelevant but I have got to try.
I was graded PES B2L3 for Lazy Eye and thus, was also excused range. I am enlisting on the 9th May 2012, the earliest batch at 0845 hours. So I am going to ask some questions and I hope to receive some replies ASAP because I've only got 6days of civilian life left. I looked up the stuffs on MINDEF and it is very vague.
1) What exactly is excused range? Does that mean that i must handle rifles and grenades?
2) The impression that I have on MINDEF website is that only PES A/B1 recruits go through the Battle Innoculation Course. But my friend said we have to leopard crawl as well. Im confused. So do we go for the BIC as well?
3) Do I get to go back company line during field camp? Because I am L3.
4) I didnt know that we have to go for IPPT/IPT/RT every year after we ORD until 40 years old( or I would have fought against it) - which is complete bullshit imo. Im chronically unfit (ill be happy hitting 16 mins for 2.4) so I can see the hassle of RT for 3 months every year. Plus I dont foresee myself being placed on the MINDEF Reserve List by the age of 30 given the limited service vocations that is offered to me. So is there anyway I can just downPES to PES C2L1 using slight flatfoot as an excuse?
Thanks in advance. Its very hard to get information because mine is a relatively new PES

Good questions. I can't answer them, but I can tell you that the IPPT time tables will give you an extra 20 seconds to complete your 2.4 run for every 5 years you age.
And if you don't pass IPPT as a reservist, you will do RT which is conducted on saturdays. Mindef is authorized to call you up to a maximum 40 days a year, all training included.
Can't you find something to downPES yourself with?
This is with respect to reservist, you have 2 years to figure this out.
As for your NSF period, they do have weekend training for those who don't pass IPPT. I think SOC (run + obstacles wearing equipment and rifle) will be a problem for you too. So try and hurry.
Hi People,
I do have a urgent question that i hope someone is able to enlighten me about.
My question is this: Lets say MinDef has alr sent a letter to you stating you are to report for enlisting on 8 June for Physical Training Pharse for not clearing the Napfa Test.
Is it possible to retake the Napfa Test and get a Silver award to avoid the Physical Training Phrase and let the enlistment to be rescheduled to a later date for the actual BMT itself?
Cuz i have heard that some friend of another friend of mine has done soon a couple of years back.. about 2 years back. Not really sure if it stills applys now.
ThankYou very much

Are you physically fit? If you have been found to be fit
for full Basic Military Training (BMT) i.e. PES A or B1, you may
want to take the NAPFA test.
Should you attain a NAPFA Gold or Silver award at least 2 weeks
prior to your Physical Training Phase (PTP) enlistment date, you
will attend a 9-week Basic Military Training (BMT) and enjoy a
2-month reduction in your full-time National Service. Those who
fail to attain the required fitness level will have to undergo a
8-week Physical Training Phase (PTP) before attending the 9-week
BMT.
The NAPFA test is conducted at the Toa Payoh Stadium (map to Toa Payoh Stadium) every Wednesday
(except public holidays). You are required to book an appointment for the test
via the NAPFA test booking system prior to the test date
and you are only allowed to make one valid booking at any one time.
Please note that the NAPFA result is valid for 1 year from the date
of test. You are advised to report for the test in acceptable attire and punctually. All the six
test items must be completed in one single sessions. A maximum of 2
to 5 minutes rest period is permitted between any two tests (for
the first test items); a 15 to 30 minutes rest period is permitted
before the sixth test item.
NAPFA tests at Toa Payoh Stadium are conducted
strictly on appointment only. Therefore, advance booking via NS
Portal must be made latest by Tuesday before 12 noon in order to
take the NAPFA test at Toa Payoh Stadium the following
day.
Do note that
pre-enlistees who do not book their NAPFA date via the system would
not be allowed to take their test at the Toa Payoh
Stadium.
If you wish to know more about the NAPFA test, you may want to read
through the FAQ before you make your booking.
1. Can I take the test after I failed the NAPFA
test the last time?
Yes. You are allowed to retake it until you pass. There is no limit
to the number of times you can take the test.
2. When is the last date I should take the NAPFA
test?
You should attempt the test as soon as you are ready and you are
advised to take it at least 2 weeks before the date of
enlistment.
3. Can I retake only the test items I have failed in my
last attempt?
No. All 6 items must be completed in one single session.
4. Can I amend my booking after
I have booked?
Yes, you are allowed to amend your booking before 12 pm on the day
before the test date.
5. Can I make a few booking together?
No, you are only allowed to make 1 booking at any one time. You can
make your next booking after the test date you have
booked.
Hello everyone, I'm having field camp from this Sunday onwards but I got an mc (legitimately sick) till then so my sgt told me to join field camp from day 2 onwards instead. I am concerned that this means I cannot be considered to have cleared field camp entirely and so I have to recourse.
Is my concern justified?

Nowadays PTP = spend the whole 2 months in BMT?
Last time the discount was 2 months but PTP was 6 weeks and the 2 weeks was served in unit.
enlisting soon...June 8th...hmm...

2 options.
1. Enlist as per scheduled. Sound out to the officer-in-charge to visit the camp medical centre to submit the doctor letter.
2. Make a trip to CMPB to submit the doctor letter to the doctor at CMPB.
Hi all, i'm posted to the police force on 7th aug, which i am highly uninterested in.

Don't think so, unless it is your grandfather's armed forces.
Hello everyone!
I was just wondering about the issue of shaving in during BMT cos I'm a person who has to shave every morning.
Is it a must to shave everyday or is the stubble-ly look allowed?
Thank you!
