I'm going in for the PTP because i was not able to get a silver for napfa. My PES status is A. So now i have a few questions in mind, pls help and advise me. Thank you very much!
1. Anyone enlisting same date as me?!
2. Is PTP training at tekong? The food good anot? LOL
3. How long must i wait before i can book out?
4. Which unit and vocation am i likely to be posted to?
5. I want to get into police force, anyone can tell me how to apply? But if apply, army will let me go over to police force? (Not because i want to avoid ns life, i always wanted to be policeman.)
Any brothers out there pls help and advise, thank you, thank you!
Yes ptp training is at tekong.. The food is decent, of course it is nothing as good as home-cooked food or hawker food, but it is edible and is better than your average army camp.
2 weeks from your date of enlistment
Pes A can be anything from OCS, SISPEC, Rifleman, Security Trooper, basically anything under the sun.
You can sound out to your PS or PC during the interview, I'm sure they will give you advice.

Hi Guys,
I'm a graduating poly student and I just went for my CMPB check on 28 Feb, PES A & passed NAPFA.
According to the iPrepNS, there is an intake from 7th May 2012 to 9th May 2012 for those who passed NAPFA.
Would I be in the May intake? Would my enlistment be delayed because my CMPB checkup was on the end of Feb while all my friends went during Dec.
I really hope I can faster get into NS & faster finish it so I can enter Uni in time 2 years later.
No, poly intake is from june-nov since you pass nafpa is either aug or nov intake
May is for JC
Be patient, i also waiting for the enlistment letter.

Thanks a lot bro
Another question. I find spectacles very irritating. My myopia is only 75 deg left eye, 150 deg right eye. Normally, I don't even wear it and only put it on when I'm in lecture hall and I never had problems without my spectacles.
For my NS life, I would carry my specs in casing in my No.4 trouser pocket wherever I go just in case I need it. My question is, can I totally don't wear specs during
1. BMT
2. IPPT
3. Road march
4. Field Training
I would definitely wear it when I need to go for shooting practices.
It is irritating to go for road march or field training and the sweat etc gets into your specs. I'm most worried that I need to last minute do some shooting during field training and I have to take out my specs while everyone take aim and fire already =x

Just wear a pair of spectacle hooks and bring your specs cloth around, problem solved.

Problem is I prefer to go without specs. I only want to wear specs during shooting, non shooting no specs. Is it possible?

The Situational Test (Sitest), used for decades during Basic Military Training (BMT) to identify recruits for command or leadership posts, has become tougher.
Recruits are now scored on how they plan battle manoeuvres based on simulated combat missions within a tight timeframe - and the test is now incorporated within their field camps.
This means recruits will undergo the Sitest in the same week that they rough it out away from their bunks at Pulau Tekong's BMT Centre, digging trenches, practising battle manoeuvres and shooting at simulated targets.
So, even as they fight off fatigue, dust, heat and the pressures of a 'battlefield', they will have to show that they can plan a successful day or night 'mission' that may require digging trenches and taking up sound battle positions to overcome the 'enemy'.
Aim for PES A!!

sergeant need to go SCS
Mono-intake very low chance to go SCS.
Ok..so can anyone tell me how life and training inside is like?
even if we want to tell, not really possible to put it publicly here cos it will violate Official Secrets Act. if there are any, it will probably be in your PM.
