ORD: As 2LT(NS). Promote to LTA? Go for ICTs OR IPPTs? How?

  Hi all
  
  During my 2nd year of NS, I was hospitalised for a period of time and was only able to attain IPPT Pass. Thus I ORD as 2LT, unlike my officer peers who ORD as LTA.
  
  I am wondering if i will still be able to promote to LTA (even tho i have ord) when i attempt my IPPT again and attain Gold standard?
  
  Any one knows?

  you can still be promoted during your NS days, provided you completed the required promotion requirement, like IPPT, clock enough ICT as well as high-key ICT, good performance during your ICT, etc...

  So in other words I'll still be 2LT for a few ICTs before i can be promoted to LTA?

  if you are chosen. if not, you can sound out to volunteer for extra work, or volunteer to extend NS and and get the (VOL) designation. get featured in ARMY NEWS also.

  Do not worry! 2LT (NS) will be promoted to LTA (NS) in due time. According to the NSmen handbook, promotion to LTA is held after a unit's ICT. I do have friends who commissioned late (e.g. OOC) and did not have enough time to get promoted to LTA while still in NS. so they got promoted within their first 2 ICTs. I have even heard of 2LT (NS) holding OC appointment while all the PCs are LTA (NS) .. hehe

  Is IPPT Gold the requirement for being promoted to LTA?

  A mere pass means no promotion, what about not passing?

  Passing IPPT is a must for all promotion. You will most likely get your 2nd bar after you finish your 2nd ICT.
