Hey guys quick question: What are the chances of someone without a MD becoming a medic. Not a medical officer, just a medic.
And what are the roles of a medic? Is it a good experience for someone who wants to go to medical school? Do you just go through simulations or are there actual injuries that you deal with?
How would you go about to get chosen to become a medic?

Plenty of chance.
They work like nurse, assistant, paramedic. But, platoon medic have to go outfield.I dont think being a medic will offter you extra experiences. The experience in the medical school is sufficient. People who got into MBBS in NUS will disrupt their NS and go straight right after BMT. They are plenty of e-cases for you if you become a medic for guards, SIR, and commando.
During CMPB, if you can still maintain calm and accurate after seeing all the funny questions in the pyscho test, there is high chance to go medic if you cannot make it to OCS. Not maintain people can remain saint in a extremely chaotic suituation.
i'm from north america. So the way medical school works here is different. you get an undergrad degree first then apply for medical school. But mindef only allowed me to defer for my degree not for postgrad. So i cant disrupt for another 4 yrs after. i was just thinking which would have a better experience: OCS vs medic. But without a MD i guess its impossible to become a MO.
