I have been thinking about changing my job but I have a upcoming RT session, which i feel will hamper my chances of getting a job, and even if i do get it, i feel that it is not nice to inform my new employer on the first day that i am having RT.
can anyone advice how RT will affect a person chance in the interview?
also if i were to tender just before i go for ICT, will I be considered serving notice during my ICT period? thanks
Yes man. Even Part time or Full Time, RT cause our salary to decrease.
Shall we ask the government to help us by claiming them back.
FUnny, No one spoke about this issue during now election.
dont disclose!!!!u do whatever it takes to stay on job and pay for yer meals daily.the army wont help u much or fast enough.meanwhile u simply starve to death slowly.
its yer call!
waa NS really troublesome
No need to disclose, all employers are expected to know singaporean males are subjected to military obligations.

As an employer (especially a foreign company), I'd naturally rather hire foreign-talents or women who doesn't have to serve. Something has to be done to ensure a farier compensation to those doing reservice.
They should also relax on the requirement for NSmen to cut their hair, and to dye it black, etc. every year that they return.
but to join during RT schedule like not very nice right? is like go work first day gotta leave early cause RT starts at 6 Zzzz

Then go for IPT lor...
My Advice is that u go for downgrade if u cannot make-it thru your RT / IPPT. No points going for RT for so many session and yet still fail the IPPT.
You think about it, after u have been downgraded u don't need to worry about passing your IPPT! No disturption to your working time!
Try to get C2L9! Perm down PES = No IPPT!
where got so easy to downpes...
Is easy, I'm the example. I can recommend u a specialist but are u willing to spend the money? I spend the money on the MRI scan report and the specialist letter. Normally the MO will accept the specialist letter. In a very rare case they will ask for the MRI / X-Ray flim.
@ shinkansen
Nowadays like not that easy. LOL...
Cos everyone's doing the same thing.
NSF side, now even specialist letter cant save most of them.
But for ORD personnel, usually they are willing to accept the letter though... Cos Singaporeans die very easily nowadays.... better let you pass... wait u old liao engine spoil... suddenly die.... MO dun wan play with you.
@ junyang700
Yes I understand, to get down PES is not easy but one got to try. If u want to down PES then u must fight for yourself.
I agree your point, nowaday Singaporean die very easily cos we live in a comfy enviroment and have good food. Hardly do any form of exercise but what can we do? unless we change our working habit.
That is a very narrow view!
If you have medical issue, it will add on to your insurances premium
In some cases, the employer may reject hiring you when you have serious conditions.
So it is not very wise to downgrade.

how much are we talking about?
We have a saying: Nobody is born perfect. There is always something wrong with ur body waiting for you to discover. Just depends on whether you wanna check it out.
MRI we are talking about a few hundred dollars. I paid $350 for my backbone MRI. You may need a few MRIs before you can find a downgrade case. For ur future convenience and employability, I believe it's worth it.
i dont mind the ICT, but it is the RT/ippt that is troublesome Zzz

I spend about S$1200.00 for the MRI and the specialist report. I think it is worth to spend this money.

Yes, I agree with u. This is true. I didn't notice that I have injured my right arm till I went thru the 11/2 month BMT.
