12 recruits per room when it used to be 6. Guess taking over old SISPEC wasn't enough.
from the toilet bowl peekture, it seems like costs have been cut much..

I kop ed some of the pictures from the webby. Wtf man, looks awesome and great. Anyway I think this is good promotion for the Singapore Army since it'e being shown on some foreign site...Hopefully it will raise the profile of SAF lol..
(kop-ed from http://newsgenocide.com/?p=750)
What the hell is the intention behind this...another one is the "lichkag", which is really just the Lim Chu Kang FIBUA area... -.-

The exact same bed placement, just single beds. Some rooms had 6 beds and some had 7. We didn't have the shoe cabinet and the small fans, or such a shitload of chairs.
I did one guard duty with a 3SG instructor when I was still carrying truncheon and wooden shield. We prowled the first shift and talked cock. He didn't wake up for the second shift, unfortunately he also didn't tell me and I waited for him for 2 hours, not daring to ask the Guard Com "when is my 3SG coming" cos you just don't question 3SGs.
When he found out, the Guard Commander said the RSM is unlikely to check, and anyway the crappy turnkey timebox is spoilt. He fabricated the sheets and made look like the 3SG drew weapon. Surprise, RSM came. Don't know whether they were caught because he gave them a kanning for a host of other things during the turnout.

got rumours said that this pic was a photoshopped one..
It was the other one that was photoshopped, the one W/O the maid.
On the other hand, I'll love having a maid come along with me outfield, those damn idiots at MINDEF increased my fullpack load from 28kg to 40. If we find the genius responsible, my whole company is voting to throw all our fullpacks on that guy. Can't even stand straight up, need to crawl to a tree and handwalk up.
@#$%^&*!!!
Bro, that is THE real threat to national security. Even Americans are getting spinal and ankle injuries humping their 25kg fighting loads around, what more us. What did they add inside? During NSF or ICT?
Hard to imagine even a medic with weapon, stretcher, IBA carrying 40kg.
Originally posted by limywv:screw the guy who thought it was a smart move to post that photo as a joke. Though it might be true, it is definitely a threat to national security. Now our current security posture will look less credible.
Could be photoshopped, could be posed.
Recruits (guessing by his hair) have identifying tapes/numbers on their packs right? This guy doesn't. On a high res one on stomp, I think I can see "GD1". While it's easy to visually examine and question the few recruits who live in Tanah Merah (and their packs), it's easier to imagine this issue dying a quiet death.
Imagine every recruit untaping his pack for instructors to examine the loop, compare with the highest res upload provided by Stomp, close matches being subject to the old "confess and suffer less" tactic. Then "The soldier has been punished". No one knows who he is or what he got. An innocent soldier with a geographical match by residential address might be pressured to "take 6 extra like a man" which is far less than what the public wants. Maybe no one lives there and no one confesses. Suppose "GD1" was an illusion and Mindef decides to examine each uniform by pixel print. What's in it for Mindef anyway, whether an everyday investigation is successful or not they often never disclose.
Everyone knows we have kengers and slackers. One example becoming visible doesn't dent defence (logically impossible), even if it's that fragile. Soft and unmotivated soldiers are undesirable, but it's a known fact, and the entire SAF doctrine is written specifically to counter it. And what of Every Singaporean Son on Nat Geo?
This reminds me of Generation Kill. The guy who lost his helmet got f*cked, the guy who lost the supply truck went unpunished.
why bother about soldiering or anything with d military???u arent even good soldier material for starters!!!if u went on a one way mission ...most probably u would have fainted halfway due to fear as the doctrine couldnt save u or would not save u.
Why bother with a webbie? National Geographic already put our national service on the world map, just search Singaporean Son on youtube.
