*Face palm*
Like tis which shipping line/ car manufacturer is going to continue using Singapore for car transhipment and feel safe the cars would be in good condition while waiting for the connecting vessel? So to those 'crabs', so how ar?
Donning green could really drain one's intelligence level
Sometimes I wonder are those left hand drive vehicles.
Well, whether the car manufacturers are using our port transhipmejnt in the furure or not, it's up to them to decide. But if u look at the whole thing, those NSF and that regular did not wanna steal the car, rather they wanna race in it.......so the court is looking into this. But of cause there's a argument saying that taking without permission is considering stealing. But the final decision is on the defendents' lawyers and judges, no point talking over here?
That is also consider using other property without owners consent.

there's a thing in British law system of a precedent case. Tat means tis ruling would have implication in future.
It could shake the logistics sector as a whole operating in Singapore.
It's like either way.. 'look, e prev ruling in SAF court states it's not considered theft' or theft is theft period.
How come saf must look after new cars?
Is that their job?
Being doing 2 yrs of ns learning this?

Oh, they should put this case across the judge that ns personel shouldnt do this kind of duty. It is total rubbish to man the cars.
Or the car is not in their area but they (ns guy) crossed over to play with the cars?

There are things over this tat I have heard of but not going to be able to put it openly here

the cars just happened to be there, they've no biz w/ e cars
simple as tat
I did my duty there before, more than 10 years back. Some foreign naval warships dock there, and then there is the estate where some of the VIPs stay that require patrolling. There is a humongous carpark there full of foreign cars waiting to go outbound, but I best remember that place for that minimart that stocks all things foreign, and charges only in US currency.
no precedent case for future similiar cases. They'll go DB for good

Well no matter what the regular is the biggest loser here. Not only will his contract be terminated, he also need to back pay any money upon signing on, furthermore he need to serve up his NS liability. I think for regular 2 days = 1 day of a NSF.
What so fun of playing cars sigh but then when you are wearing green,it hard to think normally.I think theft is too much for them however they are still at fault especially the regular, sign on and yet still act so immaturely.
CV theft record
A very stern warning is more than enough.
Db is too harsh.
playing on duty = playing w/ fire

DB too harsh? I don't think so, we are talking of damage properties here by the security. Imagine your office been bulgarized by the security you hired, you just let him of with a warning?

He's already doing NS which he did not sign-on to. That is punishment in itself.
Them being sentenced as theft reveals the organization as the joke that it really is.
What they do to non-signon NS personals in DB should also be transparent to the public to ensure that they are not doing something that can qualify as torture, something that would not be done to civilians.

Phorum Noob, I think you did not read the report carefully, the 3SG was a regular. No one can force you to sign on as a regular. It's a career you chose yourself.
Whether are their judgement is right or not. The judge will decide.
Also, I notice you bear a deep hatred with the organization.Forget about it your life will be more happy.

Woops, ok my bad. :)
But how to "forget" when my reservice period isn't over yet?
Yeh I just felt the need to vent my immense displeasure of the currently situation where people who are born as males are disadvantaged, especially seeing how most of my friends here overseas graduates from their degrees at the age of 22 while I graduated at the age of 26 (as I had to serve 2.5 years + the waiting periods). I would have already completed my PhD 2 years ago if not for NS.
But venting aside, I believe the issues that I've raised over at the other thread are valid points that SHOULD indeed be adressed and not be overlooks just because almost every guys has to do it (and female-persons aren't that crazy to fight against this inquality to their own disadvantage anyway).
I do honestly hope to see a change in this unfairness and a fair compensations be made not only to those currently serving, but those who had already done their time (especially those who had to do 2.5-3 years where NS used to be a lot more siong, abusive and psychotic). The great disadvantage in our career (to compete with females-people and foreign-talents; and the loss in productivity and comission for some) of having to do reservice should be rectified, and the rules impinging on our freedom as civilians (such as having to cut our hair short again everytime we return) be relaxed, etc.
