Probably given 100 push ups for crying while doing 100 push ups as punishment for sneezing when falling in.
A gentle reminder, too much MC will disrupt the BMT. If they post u out before BMT completion, u are required to re-do or re-course the BMT again some other time, never think u can escape BMT. I have a fren who kena post out of BMT only to redo it 3 months before he ORD. Nobody can escape....
100 push ups and then hold rifle over the head, and then do other tekan.....hmm.....what's your vocation when u were in NS, storeman? Clerk?

this kinda training was what I went through in JC...minus rifle PT of cos.
30 min push-up postion was the norm and all of us sweat it through.
you?
you like to walk walk walk and now you tell me training should not be in this manner?
bwahahahahahaha
as for BMT, I had it worse than others, I also managed to complete everything without having to keng, even if it meant attend C right after 24 click.

I've said this many, many times: IT'S NOT ME.
Fine, I hereby submit my resignation as a moderator of the SAF forum.
I personally disagree with the changing of forum titles without the TS' permission, and I disagree even more with having fingers pointed at me for something not of my doing.

You say you submit your resignation as moderator.
But under your user name still has the title moderator
/ facepalms.
Oh god. ADF imposed brutal training and discipline on our company during PTP/ BMT, we also never complain. Take it like a man, period.
I still remember clearly how my PC made us do 300 flutter kick on first day of BMT.
Army is like that.
outside, it show how the army take care of your boys.
Inside, different story. They tried all the boys like dirt and can furk around with the boys. And can punish the boys as and when they feel like it.
I have been to this stages before (in the 80s), I thought that it is now better, but wrong wrong wrong, seem like it is still the same old style.
Is that what army teach the boys when next time they are sgt, they also torture the new boys?
Better to gather all the parents and go for a protest.
The army life is sheit! What you see in the advertising is all untrue.

yep, though we can safely say conditions did have an improvement... subjected to how each individual company does its training; QFT.
and actually everything stems from the environment itself, not so much on the sgts or the officers/wo. being the centre of BMT, no choice certain things have to be done unpleasantly which many say they do not like/wish to do. when in unit, not so much of shyt; and sometimes, sticking thru thick and thin even transcends across boundaries.
"Is that what army teach the boys when next time they are sgt, they also torture the new boys?" all in all it's the environment issue; alot of sgts who passed out from sispec also go unit doing other vocations, which is what most prefer. in fact nowadays lesser nsfs get postings that deal with new boys as u call it. not like the older days

Recently my son did his BMT training at Tekong. There was this over enthusiastic NSF Sgt who goes around punishing recruits for the slightest mistakes they made and even coughing during fall in will get you 40 push-ups as punishment.
He usually rotates his victims and catch them for slightest mistakes made and minimum punishment from him is 40 to 100 push ups. Once my son was caught for a mistake and told to do 100 push-ups. Despite trying his best to complete the 100 push-ups, he was accused for not trying and given another punishment which is lifting the rifle over his head. Already so tired from doing the push-ups, he now lifted his rifle overhead and despite that was accused again for not trying his best because he bended his arm and the Sgt punished the entire platoon with more push-ups.
Don't they have check and balance system to make sure that all trainings are contained within certain set perimeters instead of whims and fancy of individual Sgts.
Bro, I just completed BMT like 2 months ago.
1. I kena 200 push up for unsatisfied standby area before I just do.
2. My platoon keep getting turnout at night for partying at night to relieve daily stress, and in army, 7 hours of uninterrupted rest = meal breaks, rest between activities, lectures in lecture room or auditorium etc, means whenever no activity = counted into the 7 hrs of rest, for this dunnid to fight with army le.
3. Rifle overhead is nothing, I kena rifle/field pack overhead, mattress overhead and FBO push ups, I also suck thumb just do.
Bro all I can say is, if soldiers aren't trained to expect things that are unexpectable, how are we going to adapt into war situations when conventional war technology is suddenly overruled and we faced an ownage situation?
If they reduce BMT standard, POP how to enjoy the joy of POP and eventually take that Pink IC and shout ORD loh like nobodies business?
BMT will become PMT la(Pussy military training)
I think no changing parade already very good liao, imagine u platoon 4 climb 5 stories right after AGR and speed training, that is en route to C2L2 for torn ligaments sia.
I tell you, in army, can eat well, can sleep well very good liao. At first all go in PTP cfm here pain there pain de, muscles not used la.
Chill man, your son is becoming a man. Tank all that army has and he will be a good father next time.
Just dun too garang till injured and down pes.
It is rare that KPC that belong to the existing generation can take the training on a positive note.
It is pretty stressful in the BMT when you are being pampered since birth.
I guess KPC's dad and mum have done a good job in grooming him.
It is actually good exercise for the present context on the teenager in training them to take stress and build up team work.
But, the parent have to recognise this opportunity to make their son mature and responsible.
do u all noe wat is strawberry soldier?莓兵? small thing like that alraedy complaint complaint. no wonder now a little things also complaint. last time my fren's bed gt 1 spider and he wan push to book out 2 hour late because that that fking spider. we take it as jokes only. yet u are here to complaints too many push up for ur son.

PS do this = abuse of authority, can go court martial trial if punished beyong the limits of GOM.

lols anyway I am the one who is too garang and got injured and now C9L3^.^
If the BMT Sergeant needs to punish his men excessively to keep up the discipline, i think the fault lies with the platoon instructors and officer. Soldiers of today are different from the past, they are educated to start with and are more inquisitive than the soldiers of my father's generation who are not highly educated or not English educated. My dad told me his platoon commander in 1969 was only O levels educated.
Leading by fear is easier to inculcate military life into recruits than leading by leadership. Unfortunately that will only increase animosity and the lack of initiative by the soldiers during a moment of crisis. I went through BMT during a time where it was really strict and punishments can vary from mild to downright sadistic. But when i become a commander myself, i realise that it cannot work in a combat unit, where trust within each other is paramount regardless of rank. That is why in my reservist infantry battalion the most screwed up commanders tend to be formerly BMT instructors.
So has Gohmatthew done anything already?

technically it shouldnt be that way.. the 7 hours directive is meant for those in BMT to have 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night.. like if reville is at 5.30am, latest time to lights off is strictly by 10.30pm. whatever breaks there are during daytime doesnt count into it, though some ppl may contest that rest between activities counts also =/ so did your coy give u enough sleep at night? hope u all didnt actually party when u are supposed to be sleeping. the turnout is mainly due to excessive noise?
