Sign On Regular: Now a Man in Unit. Worth It?Wise? Salary?

hi guys
1) if let say im in other unit, if i wan signON as guards, they will send mi to SCS rite?
2) wat if i did not meet the requirement fr guards/GCC?
3) Wat if i do not know how to swim, as GCC has a 2km costal swim.? will dere be lesson for those non-swimmer?? Wat are the high key fr GCC??
4) Lets say im a regular, do u know the salary of a 2SG, 1SG, SSG, MSG? holding a diploma.

1) See 1st. e.g. BMT Performance, Peer Appraisal, SIT Test, IPPT, Medical Fitness, Physical Fitness...etc.
2) Either sign on in another vocation or contract null and void since if cannot make it.
3) Life jacket.

5) When you sign the Sergeant contract, you are poised to go on the Sergeant route. If only you are that damn good on top of cream of the crop, e.g. SCS Coy Best, then still got chance. Otherwise, you carry on the Sergeant contract. The contract bond is the Minimum Term of Engagement (MTE) period is 5 years. If you quit, you have to pay back all the salaries, allowances + the 'break bond' compensation.

Why U want to sign on? Pls ask yourself first before U make the decision!It is not as easy as u may think. Pls go thru your BMT first then U decide!

all i noe is tat i may be posted to scs after tat go fr GCC. but wat if OOC?

you will sign on as a "general"specialist then, and depending on the manpower, they will be posted you like goods here and there.
Of course, they will ask you your preferences, and try their best to post you around.
You will not OOC one, unless you are injured or down pes.
OCS most likely impossible, SAF need more specialists now, to run the WO level they will most likely retained people.
For poly educated, if you sign on, most likely be 1 year as platoon sgt, 1 year CSM, 1 year, 1 year, 1 year. As the senior wo are retiring now, they promote u fast. Dont expect you to be out field for long as most likely you will be in HQ office by the end of 5 years.
ITE, O level... dont expect promotion until you get your diploma.

signing on in the first place is already stupid. its not like an outside job where u can quit as and when you wish. 5 years is a long time. if you come across any unhappiness or difficulties, you will be caught in a tough position. breaking bond requires you to compensate them.
You really want to book in book out for the next 5 years? you really want to chiong sua for the next 5 years? You really want to wear the green uniform for next 5 years?

and the promotion realli 1 yr promote by a rank???
is it very competitive(promotion/bonus) in guards unit(gt more garang ones) compare to amour etc???
