hello! just created an account here because this has been bugging me for a good while for the entire week.
basically, i would like to ask if it is likely for me to attend a pes C recourse due to the upgrade?
now for the wall of text of info:
prior to enlisting i was temp pes e9l9 for 6 months, and i have already cleared that 1 week induction program on mid/late april this year. now i have already been posted to the unit as a clerk. after the review of my medical status, i am now currently graded as c9l2. from what i have been sussing out from the (even greater) wall of text in the BMT FAQ thread, is it exactly true that you actually only serve bmt once (even though my bmt, in all honesty, isnt exactly one).
would like to thank anyone in advance for answering this question.
what's recourse mean?
Yep.. You need to recourse. My friend for one got upgrade from E1L9 to C9L9, got to go recourse too. But very relax one.. Don't worry.. :)
yea, the going through of bmt once refers to the real bmt, not the clerk induction program, so very likely you will have to go to tekong for the pes c bmt program.
and also its better to go, because if im not wrong, for pes c personnels, they have to have gone through bmt before getting promoted.
:/ not the reply i was looking forward to, but hey, reality bites. gotta admit that im not a real fan of tekong.
thanks for the prompt reply though! :)

Well most people attend recourse before they ORD, so just take it as a ORD gift.

Haha, most recruits shout "POP" when falling out near POP period. But those guys above will shout "ORD" near POP period. Guess even the SGTs will also be envious..lol
ORD means another thing thought, it means also to fight for studying places with FTs, fighting for jobs with cheaper FTs.
To TS, recourse depends on your unit and the MO, also luck plays a part.
If your unit lack of manpower, your unit won't send you for recourse even if you up pes.
Also if you up pes doesn't mean 100% need go recourse, you have to go through a medical FFI for bmt pes C recourse by the MO.
As I said luck plays a part, some MOs are kind or in a good mood for the day, they will ask you if you want to recourse. If you don't want then they will fail the FFI.
All in all, if your unit don't want you and die die want you go recourse, they will pressure the MO to pass you.
After finishing BMT there is a chance not to return to your unit as a clerk, but instead posted to a vocation and new unit. But if your ORD date is nearing, there is a very low chance to recourse, or a new vocation or new unit. Low chance doesn't mean no chance though, as I have friends ORD during their vocational period.
If your goal is to slack in NS, then try not to even upgrade your pes. If you are at pes C9L2 permanent, then leave it as it is. If it's 6/12(6months) then when the time is up for a PES review, then
1) Drag time, say busy and no time to go medical centre for FFI
2) say cause of former injury still affecting you, make appointment with specialist or whatnot, possibly best scenario book apointments that is a far date away e.g. 2-3months, which is normal for govt specialists. Why? refer to point 1.
By the time, it would already mean ORD and there would be no point.
Although I have heard recourse bmt are really slack, but that is just a rumour.
Good luck in your NS quest.
