Reservist NSman: 10-Year ICT Cycle of AT LEAST 7 HK & 3 LK?

Operationally Ready NSmen are a vital part of the SAF and forms the core fighting force. Each year, you will be called up for in-camp-training for two to three weeks to maintain your individual proficiency as well as to build unit cohesion. Such training ensures the highest level of operational readiness in the SAF. From 1 Apr 2006, you need to serve only 10 years of ICT instead of the 13 years. You will also be activated regularly for mobilisation exercises.
To ensure that NSmen can strike a balance between the competing demands of NS duties, family and work, you will be called up for no longer than the period required to meet the training objectives. While NSmen can be called up for a maximum of 40 days of NS in a work year, in practice, an NSman is generally called up for not more than 14 days for local training, or 21 days for overseas training in your high-key training year.
Before your NS training begins, a notification will be sent to you as below:
a. 6 months in advance for high-key training (i.e. 7 days or more);
b. 3 months in advance for make-up training (MUT) as well as low-key training (i.e. between 2 and 6 days); and
c. 2 months in advance for call-up activities for 1 day or less. -

i an not rying to scare anyone..my campmate and i completed the 10 year cycle wz 7 highkey. he M.R last year as he has attended a mob briefing 5 mths earlier than me. The clerk told me i would M.R this year due to the caculation of a workyear. however i call my unit this morning to check again and i was inform that the cycle was extended!..I would have to complete 2 more ICT before my M.R!! said that about 80% of those suppose to M.R this year are affected. So i am wondering anyone know anything about this...

i know u completed 7 HK, but did u complete yoyr 3 LKs??

well..although i have not, my campmate did not too. so thk i may have to check with mindef then..

well if u have completed all the 7 HKs, just siam whatever future HK they may call u up into. Just focus on completing the remaining LKs.

I call it 10-Year ICT Cycle... but liable for 40 days recall throughout one year. They just called up me for a high ICT in March and another at the end of the year. How unlucky!

What's the issue here?
You do know that even if you have already done your 7x high-key, you are still liable for your 3x low key. In the end, you still have to do your 10-year cycle if they want you to do.
Your friend is just lucky to get MR earlier, that's all.
So man up and just do your remaining low-key ICTs.
