  from 09/09/10 Straits Times. e Oct 2 BMT POP will be held at Marina floating platform at 10am.. 24km route march to be done overnight on e main island.. ending pt F1 pit.

  Why must POP there? Won't it be stressful on the recruits? 24 clicks no need walk overnight one lar. Every 4km per 1 hour take 20 min break why need overnight? Saturday somemore, got time for them to book out yet cannot, need to RTB and send arms. Sian right?

  Personally I think Mindef, rather ask the REC and family to go home from there rather than ask them taking boat from Tekong....cut cost.

  Must be some scholar who have nothing to show.

  So, he come out with the wayang idea of doing POP at the bay plus 24 km road match.

  The event have become his wayang points to impress his boss.

  Sad to say, the recruits have to suffer overnight road match for this show.

  This is a pretty wayang show on the paper.

  In actual planning and logistic arrangement, unnecessary resources and money will be wasted for this show.

  My suspicion is that there must be a lots of white horse within this batch of recruits.

  That is why they are going through so much effort to lick the bosses.

  Then might as well just have them walk the lim chu kang area, finish up at singapore discovery centre or jalan bahar camp, down there got joo koon and pioneer mrt stations for convenience. Confirm cut costs one. By the way, I am not a scholar, but wished I was so I can take a million dollar salary.

  the overnight route march to pop has been pretty much ongoin for quite awhile now anyway, it was stopped a few years back but it has returned again..

  even in tekong, it was usually route march to the parade ground for pop..

  I remembered doing 32 clicks when in sispec in tekong. I can still remember the feeling of sleepwalking. We walked tekong in circles. After we passed out as specialists, went back to camp grounds, we were too tired to sleep.

  Aiyah, they got a way to sort it out one lah. If I know SAF efficiency, they can make things happen at the lastest of the lastest minute. Sometimes I think all is wayang to make us think they not capable thats all.

  Route march rehersals don't have, but most likely they need to do the parade rehersal. But it can be done during drill lessons.

  Aiyah saturday that hour CBD, marina bay that area totally clear one. Saturday in singapore is the best day to drive to work in the morning.

  Actually, some of the forumers have pointed out a security concern.

  That is parading of the SAR21 in the heartland.

  Not forgetting you have so many recruits to control in mid of the night.

  Any gang of bengs can just rob the rifles from the recruits.

  Additional police force will need to be utilised to take care of the weapons if there are any of these security lapses.

  What is the scholar thinking ????

  What if half way someone fall out how? Plus after the march need to change to new smart 4. And after the march no need rest? Normally they will let the men rest 1 day and then have POP the next day.
