Hi, im curious about this, does the MDES scheme and structure applies to NSFs as well for the relevant vocations? And if it does, are the reservist personnels gonna have to convert to MDES as well or do they get to keep their military ranks?
Appreciate any input with regards to this matter.
nobody knows?
NO it does not. The lowest rank start from equivalent "SGT".
So for example air force technicians, the regulars will be under MDES,but the NSFs will be using military ranks?
nsf....military expert????hahaha......
military experts are meant for people more than 2 years of training n exposure.nsf do not warrant any new titles.that new military expert titles are mainly meant for regular troops with countless exposures in different enviroment and skills gathered after 6 years in service. 2years as a military expert???dont count on that kinda expert unless expert is gifted with photographic memory or IQ of 300 who can memorize all logistics orders in a day.
would u want todeal with a so called expert with 2 years exposure or one that has more than 2 years?there is much to learn with only a 2 year exposure time limit.like having a 1 gb memory card and a 3 gb memory card.

yes. My friend is an airforce technician (regular), his boys called him, Sir, or Mr Tan or Jeremy. He called his boys, CPL or their name, But he is equivalent to SGT previously.
He also called his boss, Sir, Mr X, or his name, although he is a warrant previously.
In another words, the addressing is totally messed up now.
I think another friend of mine also convert to the MDES rank, he is a mechanical engineer instead of the PC(officer) in SAF now.
Expert as is in expertise, meaning some1 who is specialist in this field of work.
is an expert at frying steaks for my dinner:)
