yeah.. better stop posting for a goondu like you.. wasting my time... got better things to do....
read more (books & papers) ... dun be a clown anymore in life ....
If it's gonna cost SAF significantly, financially and medically to call a soldier back, they would rather dun send the SAF 100 to that particular soldier at all.
Medically- if a soldier has a serious medical condition, and they die die call him back to reservist. If anything happen to that person. Somebody's head definitely gonna roll.
Financially- Mindef gotta do MUP to that particular soldier, in view of loss of income due to reservist. If it happens that the reservist's income is high, it's gonna cost SAF a lot to call him back. After all every unit has a budget alocatted to them annually or monthly. They need to watch their budget also.
The point here is if TS you dun wanna go reservist, make yourself a liability for your unit in order not to be called up.
how to ORD as a private ? ....
even the lowest soldiers would get a lance corporal, eh ?

It seems like many people believe it is true. It is something to do with the rank and salary proportions.
i finished my reservist already.
there were 1001 privates.
so were directors earning 10k above in civilian pay.
stop dreaming and do your part.

yeah, but be prepared to suffer as your unit people can make your life during reservist hard before u receive your PES donwgrade notification letter.
TS
I can only say you are "NO HORSE RUN" to have believe such stories and ignore common reality....
The only way to stay as a PTE is kenna charged, even that does not garantee you won't be promoted.....just serve and fark off.

my time there was a LCP in reservist is a director in MNC he has more men under him in civilian life than our battlion strenght......he he he......
During ICT come in first day smile smile take MC and leave.......than see him last day.
which means he's too expensive to stay in SAF for long..

yeah probably one of the higherest paid Lcp....he he he.

I agree...but the mission objective is to stay as a private until ORD...consequences would be another story....

well...to be frank i go into DB before and was to be stripped of my LCP rank, but CO prevented it and get to retain my LCP rank. So i would say depends on individual unit CO ba..

it speaks of how lucky and/or capable he is.
How many of us here do have such fortune and ability right?
We ain't sim wong hoo or ewen chia...

agree...a lot of things CO has power...last time my unit got one 3SG...bound for uni...think counting down to ORD....then kenna one training incident...CO wants to show colour...sent him to DB...come out still 3SG...but doing other things liao...so its a matter of whether CO wants to do or not...
go DB....dont think they will demote(cant remember the 3SG got 21 or 28 days)...but also dun think they will promote U too...so private stays private until ORD bah...same as ur LCP stays LCP...
Anyway my point is that people dun have to go DB not to get promoted....just be a really jialat kengster.....unless ur unit really needs people with some form of rank.Ur unit mates will not like U...but it gets ur objective done.
on a side note....is it necessary to go until this extent not to get promoted?
During my time with the 2.5 years NS...people with O levels dun want anything CPL and above because it means 2.5 years instead of 2 years...now all 2 years...got such a need meh?

Of course it is not worth going DB to not get promoted. I rather get the rank and the money.
Oh that is interesting. I didnt know that last time got such system. Were there educational requirements for getting promoted to CPL last time?
To say again, it is not only me who considers the possibility of PTE not having to do reservist. Alot of my friends around me either doesnt rule out the possibility or firmly believes in it as a matter of fact. One of my friends, all 3 of his friends called back MINDEF to ask whether they needed to go back but they were told they didnt have to (of course they are privates). The belief is that if you have a vocation other than rifleman, and you ORD as a PTE, you should not be called back. MAYBE very rarely. But certainly the chances of calling you back is very low. I can say that that it my conclusion.
End of story.
