in the past there is such a thing called vocation rank. For that position, they need you to help out, they will assign you the rank. The sgt or officer, need not go through the course, but you dont get the proper rank pay also.
If you sign on, like MO or DO, they need your skills but not your fitness, they can also close three eyes and let you go through MOCC.
Another is that he is Pes B initially but downgrade over time.
From my understanding, people are pushing responsibility, not many people want to be "recognized" by the SAF. many people who got MBBS, actually kept quiet and left out of the loop.

It seem that someone has actually successfully disrupted before .... 6 years back. Weird stuffs do happen after all.
And err....all of them must got through MOCC to get their rank, so your assumption is incorrect.

yes yes i know they have to go through MOCC to get the adidas stripes...
but i am also curious coz i heard rumours that if you are pes c9, you cant get the captain rank, instead u get LTA... is it true?

Use to be true.
They changed the policy some years back though.
Now all of them come out as CPT regardless of PES, as long as they complete MOCC.

MO are officers even if they are pes C. the MO course in OCS is not the same as course for fit cadets.
dentistry students are not allowed to disrupt cos SAF does not need dentists on a large scale to service the men.
to disrupt, you can achieve one of the following:
1) get an SAFOS or SPFOS or OMS
2) apply to defer NS before enlistment, put down bond amount of either $75k or half of the combined gross annual income of both parents, whichever is higher, and go study overseas.

SAF has a way of tracking down the people who come back from UK/Australia with medical degrees even though they served their NS as men. Because of a shortage of NS men MOs, these people are being converted to be officers through the MOCC for NS men.

yes I know that. some of my previous bunkmates are MO now. But there is a loophole somewhere which I cannot tell.
