Sign On: Polytechnic Diploma for MDES, Worth It? Wise?

  i poly engineering grad, GPA not very good overall. But i want to sign on as Air Force /preferably Navy Technician. want Work till old retire Can anyone tell me of the minimium/average GPA to get them to accept you. If 25 yr old still got chance or not?

  IMO, they will want you...SAF are always in need of regular manpower. The pay and job is stable. But u gotta question urself if this is the kind of life u want because once ur in, ur in. Very regimental..a simple mistake may ruin ur career progression...

  Think about this...every sunday u book in, fri out. Unless u are married or a key appointment holder. Good pay but u won't have much time to spent it...an absolute not if u are a family man. I'm not here to dampen ur insights to it, as all the friends i know who signed on, can't wait for the 6th yr to get out..taking that ur 25 and if u happen to want out after 6 yrs, it will be very very difficult to find a job..

  i considered the career prospectives. I am not zai enough now enough to be at the managing level. I dun have money try to take private degree. Engineering got a lot of foreigners coming in. Cheaper faster and better. Those china engineers are really good. Engineers seems pretty disposable nowadays if ur not somewhat at the top. It seems the somewhat only viable way for me to do decent at my life and possibly get a family at all(nowadays woman very high standard).No Looks must also have money/financial security. Navy pay seems more than Air force technician. I like the sea although i scared if i go sailing for 1-3 month, then wife will go outside fool around. Air force potential work hours alot longer for lesser pay unless u fly overseas but i got more passion for ships/sailing I will like to spend time with family in future but no money no family

  I suggest you try out BMT and sign on after you have been in NS for about a year. Different people have different preferences in life. 

  My regulars friends (ite, poly, grad) are ok, some like their decision. One of them (poly grad) at 25 years has already a wife, house, car... Compare to me as a fresh grad, I have nothing. But he is a happy-go-luck person, and he like his life?.

  That guy is Navy specialist, (actually, I dont really remember his exact vocation and rank I meant I dont really care, although he have mentioned to me before). His supposed to control the ship's weapon system???  Nice vocation which make him fair and plump. But with difficulties passing IPPT every year.
