BMT POP: RSAF Technician ?

Hey guys,
Just got my vocation as Air Force tech. Is it a stay in or out vocation? Can get 3SG rank?

3sg rank, stay out in your unit. however stay in during training phrase in Air Force School.
For nsfs, not much of a choice, most likely fighter squadrons, cause heli and transport has been sub contracted out to ST already.
And either DCC or Armourers..
btw, tekong just pop meh? how come pop in feb..

theres no good or bad la..F16 squadrons, see you go either changi or tengah loh..
anyway airforce life is totally different from what you experienced in bmt..so you gotta be more matured, dealing with operations..screw ups are very serious..

How come I hear from some people have to work shifts? Is it a 8 to 530 job or irregular working hours. Hahaha. Just wanna know.

depending on where u are posted
most of the times its shift

if its fighter squadrons shifts, its not overnight kinda things.. but you can go in as early as 5 if you're morning shifts or even earlier, and finish around 11pm at night if you're night shift.

f16 fighter is good...u get to know more about their systems and its a modern jet so less problems.damn lucky guys goto jet fighters...less work to do there.its the support helicopters that are tedious to work with(amen to those nsf who were posted there)

fighter squadrons gets to travel to more places as compared to chopper squadrons..

anyway dont be afraid of staying in.. airforce school is like heaven when compared to tekong. in fact you will enjoy staying in there.

yeah..now all trainees from every vocation gotta stay in during the trainee phrase..

Just give you some info.
Airforce School or AFTC is a heavenly place, when posted to base you will know how good is AFS.
You will most probably be off lesson/practical after 5 or 5.30, after that is your own admin time, use that time go to gym, go to mess to drink 1.20/can tiger beer, eat chicken culet, play psp... It is really very good life, I rather be a trainee for the rest of my ns period!!
Air force tech is a 8months in service (BMT 1st day count to 8mths) get CPL rank, 1year to 3SG.

oh yes, the mess in air force school chicken cutlet is simply superb and unforgettable.
and their canteen wanton mee is good for breakfast too.

as for this batch of bmt pes c nsfs - you guys were just thrown to us without any notice from hq so there was a rush to get your lessons ready.
in any case, stay out during airman orientation programme, stay in for around 4-5 weeks? then u will post to the different squadrons. may be fighter, may be rotary etc.
enjoy your time in aftc. it will be heaven.

also dunno if the noodle store uncle and auntie (if they are still there) still use their daughter to serve during school holidays or not
last time she still in poly, now should be working or married liao

yea man.. i Started to miss AFTC now.. after being posted out... Miss all those free-time we have doing all sorts of stuff..

btw since when was the name changed to AFTC?
i thought all the while it was AFS
