I just like to check with pple does Nsmen who toil 2.5 years get any priority when applying for a flat ?
REason I asked is that Have this army fren who served as a Guards unit applied fews times still cannot get his flat , he had been invited to select a flat left at 2nd floor facing bin centre which he rejected , after that I think he was condemned by HDB system queue nos is 3 to 4000s.
Just thinking is the HDB system fair, I have a PRC turned sg citizen colleague managed gotten a very good flat next to MRT station , in this case why are NSmen have to waste 2 years of their time serving and not to mention another 10 years to put up with NS training , try going to ICT , you have to spend a few night clearing your work and put up with buay song colleague who are tasked to so called follow up with your work and few more nights till wee hours when u back from ICT to clear your backlog accumulated during your absence , how r we NSmen compensated , a watch ? $500 bonus? after 10 years are our sacrifice so cheap and worthless?
Are we alloted equal chance when it come to competing for a flat with FTs which do not endure 2.5 years in a chong sua unit ...

Ah bing kor kor, HDB and Singapore is not under marshal laws ya. And what is wrong with NS, they trained you with discipline, muscular, slim and neat...that is why Singaporeans guys are alway wanted by women around this region and PRC. You should be patriotic to serve, protect our old, youngs and gals. Why go compare with FT leh??? A total waste of effort in nurturing you or your friend

No, NSmen got no priority getting flat. Like me, I applied for ballot for all exercises close to 10 times then finally get 1 time queue number low enough to get a decent flat not in my really desired neighbourhood.
Resale too exp, maybe working 2.5 more years might have garnered me additional financial resources for it though.

I always wonder why they don't give more priority to guys who serve NS like in this case balloting for flats.It will be a good gesture to male citizens who gave up 2 years of their lives protecting the country.
