Hi, I've flat foot. Usually during standby bed/area, my soles and ankle hurts because we're required to stand during that period of time. I cannot keep standing. During route marches even worse, every step also hurts as the march as longer and heavier.
I got a specialist appointment soon. Can I know am I downgradable? I am currently Pes A.
Only if your flat foot is deemed to be serious enough such that it impedes you badly.
Otherwise, don't count on it. On my part, I'm also flat footed.
Most of the flat feet cases cannot be downgraded.
Standing there for 5-10mins also pain serious enough?

That is for the specialist to decide.
I hope the specialist can do something. It hurts when I walk long distances. Really sucks.
can go try get excuse standing from mo.
Ya if it is very serious then they will downgrade. But if thats the case they would have done so during your medical checkup before enlisting leh lol.
Anyway you can always go MO and highlight your problem and he will give you an excuse to let you be at ease during the long standing periods. I had a inflammation of the scapular( shoulder pain in my blades) and it is very searing during long standbys or parades where you have to pull your shoulder blades back during the "Senang giri" position. So the MO will give me excuse for parades and so on. I can chiong jungles day and night as a recce but I just can't handle parades especially those with loooong rehearsals. I am also Pes A and ORDed as Pes A. Btw...brooks shoe is the best for flat foot ;) It has a wider front( I am slightly flat-footed also).
I didn't know about that. So I didn't declared about my foot.

So, you mean you already knew about your flat feet before enlistment?
All pre-existing medical problems should be declared.

U can declared your flat feet and u can claim the insoles as well.
c2
I knew but I didn't know it was a medical condition. Insoles sucks man, very uncomfy.
hey man, you shld have declared it during the MO check at cmpb.
i declared i had flat foot and was awarded pes c2l2, excused rmj.
i went to AH for specialists check and found out it is only mild flat foot.
but in your case you shld tell your specialists however if want to down pes must go thru MO get memo if i'm not wrong.
(:
Thats what Im intending to do. From what I know , its better to be safe. Because flat foot can cause hell lots of problem when u're old like knee and ankle arthritis or something.
wow 5-10 mins pain.. sounds serious.. pity u..
they always ask anything to declare u guys always say no... .then now.. nvm tho u can still go to your MO now.
good luck .
hard to downgrade in BMT one

In recent yrs, flatfoot is given less down PES since its becoming too common a problem and most end up with PES B and not C anymore.

May u get a good downgrade and finish off your ns.
Where got downgrade become B ? Pes A and B no difference man.
Sorry... flat foot is not downgradable...
I also have flat foot, and my duties require me to stand for up to 2 hours... and yes though it sometimes hurt, you will get used to it...
You will still remain PES A.
I'm not sure, but I've asked around they say flat footed aren't supposed to be PES A.
