It is kind of strange... After so many years I ORD, I realise I dont really like to mix with SAF regular in civilian life. For example,
yesterday I met a new guy in the gym, who is an airforce specialist. When he announced that he was a SAF regular, I was immediately turn off (I just dont like regular). I felt that they were another form of species or a different type of people. They were just different and I refused to click with them.
Any1 have this similarities?
Did you have really unpleasant experiences during ur NS time?
For me there are regulars that i dislike alot as well as regulars that treated me very well and gave me the respect for my work etc so i'm neutral to all regulars.
see the environment lor... haha..
I have met real good regulars whom really took care of me during my 2 years in the army.
But of cos, there are some regulars in the service just for the money.

I also got to know a fren, a former RSAF regular but he also did not like regular. Those regular already left the service got a weirdo thinking as they cannot get used to the life outside the service. Some after decided to come back to join the service after cannot getting used to the life outside. I kena told by a former regualr got some companies refused to grant interview to former regular after a former CPT applying for a sales position wanted an expected salary of three thousand despite the fact that he got no experience in the sales line.

It is a fact. People work by rank, is difficult to work outside as a normal person. A CPT pushes his rank round in the army, how can he do sales outside? It is just hard.

I dont remember much abt regulars bullying me, neither nor they are good to me.
I am CPL. It is just that...
People who are same rank and below asking me to go lunch is a favour. People who are spec or officer who ask me to go lunch I considered as an order. No matter what there is alway a invisible barrier and gap between the regular and NSF, high rank and lower rank.

It might be something in ur mind only thats causing such a problem. I often have lunch or tea breaks with people lower or higher rank than me and i will just join them if i'm free without thinking about it.
To me, an order is something that must be done and can't be disobeyed, going for meals etc with people more senior than me is always a choice. Neither do i treat meals with my juniors as a favour to them since we normally treat each other equally and not care about our ranks.
I think during my reservist
I dun really get to work with regulars
Even if So. also bo chap them
LoL
one of my current colleague...
just finished his bond with SAF...
now working in the private sector...
still talks like he is an officer and the rest of us his men...

I suppose the CPT must have been forced to retire by age 45 which is why he have to give up his 3k job a month?

Of course it is a mindset problem
Another example,
one of a known friend who is a regular officer, ask me if I am interested to run with him. Although, I replied I am occupied with other things, in actual fact I dont like to run with him. I can run with all my other friends but NOT a regular officer.

I think you'll die in my environment then....70 regulars vs 4 NSFs.

Yesh.
We still meet up outside, and sometimes,i wil go back camp to look for him.
But sad to say,he just passed away last month.
SAF regulars are lonely people because of their antisocial behaviour.

No. Many of people here has agreed that regulars are anti-social and regular officers are bossy even after they ORD.
So it is obvious that I would not bother to socialize with regular because they are not sociable in the very first place. So it is not my problem.
yeah firstly they are not sociable and 2nd u cannot trust them as civilian too.

What a fucking loser to retire as a CPT. i think even if you accidentally served bad food to CDF and gave him diarrhoea its pretty hard to retire as a CPT.
They are protected by the military when they are there, and whe they go out to the actual world, they think its military and use the same principles, which is wrong coz in the civilian world, nobody gives a f*ck about yr army rank and its the fittest and smartest survive, not ranks

Its because TS and the scanty few idiots who concur with him were LCP in their NS days and suffered from anti-commander syndrome. If he had been or could be even a 3SG or 2LT it would have been different for him. But not every LCP suffer from this syndrome, as you can see from this thread many don't have any confidence issues (inferiority complex) and do not care.
