I haven't received gone through conscription yet and I would probably only be drafted in a couple of years. But before that happens I just want to be sure of these codes that I see often on this forum. Could anyone here give a brief description on how system works and how they allocate a person to the various divisions. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Anthiadon,
ORD refers to the Operational Ready Date. It is the last day of duty for a national serviceman performing full-time national service.
PES is a medical grading. It ranges from A to F, with those who are of PES A being most physically fit, and PES F being unable to perform national service.
Everybody will have to go through Basic Military Training (BMT), or its equivalent for those posted to SCDF, SPF...etc. instead of the army. Only once they have completed this training phrase, then will they know which unit they will be posted to.
Cheers.
