training xiong or not, i don't know cos i was a man.
but... armour infantry sgts are pretty much the most underpaid sgts for the amount of work you guys do.. lol.

almost same as infantry sgt, but you got armor vehicle to take you around.
no need walk from point A to point B.Armor got two type of sgt, VC or SL (vehicle comm. or Section Leader)
all will be in a armor vehicle, example Bionix
VC will make use of the armor turrent weapon,
SL will mount in the vehicle with a handful of men, dismount from the vehicle to fight when needed.you will go through SISPEC then armored specialist then you will be assigned to your voc.
about the same as OCS, 10mths total from sispec. by the time you being assigned, your men have completed their platoon level fighting,
by then, you can lead, they can following.

Yes it is xiong.. but fun!! Once Armour Always Armour!!!
The duration of the course is almost the same as ocs cadet.
U will have to learn everything from infantry to armour fighting tatics throughout your course. Weapons (GPMG, coxial, .50, .40, 25mm, 30mm, Veh Smoke launcher) depend on which veh u are assign to.
U will also learn how to drive, do servicing for ur veh, floatation, Camo drill..etc There will be many command for you to memorize giving each situation and it will be tested.
U got the chance to play simulation in the air-con computer room.
Got to learn all the roles of the every individual in your section. Each person has different role in armour and teamwork is essential to survive the course.
When u posted to unit, your unit will decide on your vocation either vc or sc. All 3SG are either VC or SC. As a platoon sect 1 SC, u will have to learn all PC roles. Sect 2 SC, PS roles. As SC, u must be ready to cover ur VC roles too, if driver needs to rest u may have to rotate with ur VC to take turn to drive when outfield.Overseas training is super xiong.
If u got the chance to sleep better sleep when you are outfield. Cause armour commander got no chance to sleep, when ur men sleeping u have to draw map and go for ops briefing, armour move in the night and fight throughout the days. No chance to sleep after the first day. unless u are declare dead during an exercise.
But end of the day. Its fun!! Cause u get to do more than what an infantry sgt does.

Hmm.. seems likely that he will be one of the new sergeants of either 41 SAR or 42 SAR...(since 15 Nov is around the day they get their posting?)
My brother is currently in 41SAR, as a man (posted from Tekong). Let me know if you are posted into 41SAR. I'm sure my brother can provide you with loads of information on the upcoming events there.

i also from armor, but not 41
my sgt told me they are tough, the specs and officer very demanding.
they earned the name "terror on track" (for the men, of course)
