as far as i know, if its for a day trip to JB and back, u dont have to apply anything. it will be ok. for overnight stays, must apply. but to be out of trouble for sure, as long as u leaving singapore, give your OC a call/text and inform him.
Wrong.
I confirm that as long as you're stepping out of the country, you need to apply for overseas leave.
You can "juz go n come bck on sun nite n on mon go bck to camp as per normal", and you won't be stopped at the customs for sure. Just wait till audit period and suay suay you tio and you can extend your ORD.
detached r u sure wit the info u tel me??..btw i dun understand(just wait till audit period and suay suay you tio and you can extend your ORD.)???
Wrong.
In theory and written in GOM, you are not required to take leave simply for going overseas.
But alot of Chief Clerk/S1 want a unit's personnel to take leave even if they are going overseas for a day "in case something happens"
Anyway, if your unit uses computer to administer the leave system, you can't be deducted for leave on a sunday anyway so long you do not exceed 30 days in a row.
But regardless, you should inform your PC/OC that you are going malaysia for the afternoon.
Its always best to apply for overseas leave if u going overseas etc during weekends because if you do not apply for overseas leave and any accident etc happen to you, you cannot claim from SAF insurance if i not wrong and if suay suay unit anything suddenly last min call u, cannot contact u is consider AWOL if your superiors are not informed that u overseas and system does not show that you have applied for overseas leave.

1. There is no Centralised Leave System now, its outdated.
2. You can't apply for any leave during, starting or ending on a weekend now. The new E-HR system treats weekends as off days and thus rejects the leave application totally.
3. Point to note, whatever's in GOM still stands, ie no overconsumption allowed, etc, despite there being a new system.

So fast change leave system liao ah. Haha no1 mention before.
How about those going overseas for say 1 week which includes weekend?
Weekends treat as off days means suay suay anytime can let it be burn since SAF tells u off days are priviledge and not something you surely are given.

Lets say you apply Tuesday to Tuesday, its still acceptable, cos you don't start and end on a weekend. But a Saturday to Sunday, or a single day on a holiday and etc will be rejected by the system. For this case, inform your direct superior and your S1 (if you think its needed) and whoever else who need to know, of your plans.
