All I know is Sungei Gedong's cookhouse...
haiz. you know wat lah.
i dont know about sungei gedong
of the camps i went to - BMTC 1, BMTC 2, AFS, SBAB, jalan aman (brunei)
this is the order
AFS (food still best, sometimes can get free cheese and serving is always alot)
BMTC 1 (syrup is always sweeter than sch 2)
BMTC 2
SBAB (veg no taste, meat damn stiff)
jalan aman (everyday curry chicken curry veg all day long)
BUT i still prefer navy ship food. lol. those navy cooks damn good in cooking.
I know sungei gedong, its so farky, I rather starve.
How tasty is cookhouse food????
haha...hahaha...hahahahahaha....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
I know last time in Seletar Camp, my chief cook always have special dishes for us......but now in CAB all the time they serve is chicken.....
okay maybe something you need to know. no matter which camp you are still tasting the same brand coooking oil from SFI.
i think its food fare now?

nope. Still SFI. Anyways, my title seems to be changed. It was originally 'how tasty is your camp's cookhouse food?' No canteen was involved.
And the purpose of this topic is to see is there any camp food that is worse than sungei gedong.
went to Gedong during ops VL.. the food was great..!
dont know about the normal food tho
pasir laba has one cookhouse that serves good food.
and among the air force camps i think tengah and cab taste better then afs/paya lebar.
Me always scan.... then proceed to canteen...

There are 4 cookhouses in Sungei Gedong camp. One for 46SAR, ATI, ABGTC and 42/48SAR.
maybe you were lucky to have food from the first 3 cookhouses.
ABGTC food is usually better cause they serve the reservist. I only eat at 46 cookhouse during my service, pretty lousy food there.

46 SAR and ATI share the same cookhouse. e other one u missed out is AETC.
oh yeah. not much is known about there though.
Amoy Quee got gd food or not?
And hows the camp?

When you can say the food from sungei gedong camp its good, you know you've been suffering worse.

AETC is like unheard of, like a legend, no one can prove its existence.
This is a good topic.
So far I remembered,
Changi Naval Base is the best
Followed by Tuas, Sembawang Naval Base
Hendon camp, is okay (has good serving but still sucks)
Bedok Camp, sucks
BMTC "on the first day" is good, other days sucks
Sungei Gedong camp - I ate packed lunch at that time, but I thought it was edible.
Khatib camp, Clementi camp, Seletar Camp, Yishun Camp, SCDF (in Jurong) - edible?
Word of Fairness: I am quite picky on food. I remember of all the camps I have been to, only the canteen food Laska in Changi Naval Base, and Meebok in Tuas Naval Base tasted great, but the stall owner has changed over the years.
If you have only been to Changi Naval Base, you will think SAF serves excellent food.
BMTC 1 - Okay lah..not bad..always looking forward to the satay and briyani combo...
OCS - Meat at huge servings..very frequent "special treats" like pasta and such.
PLC - i think this is where all the excess brocolli and cauliflowers are sent..wah lau everyday got brocolli/cauliflower..
SAFTI - same at OCS
PLC served by SFI all the way? somehow or rather, have a feeling that SFI tends to have brocolli and cauliflower very frequently, esp when western is served. -.-
just to ask around, for army units on mainland, when eating in the cookhouse, how strict are the rules related to timing/regimental? i do know that air force and some other places is quite OTOT within a timeframe. but for sispec/ocs, almost like BMT? [any notable differences?]
