3SIB HQ Unit Life ?

Hi. I've recently been given a posting directive to 3 HQ SIB as a Signal Operator. I just want to find out more about that place. Is it a stay in unit? Are the MOs nice? Im actually a c9l2 and i dont understand why im posted there. Sigh.
Heard from my friends, its quite shiong. Please help me.

Signals is probably the least physically taxing combat vocation which is why they can even take in PES Cs.The only way you are going to get out of it is if you downgrade to C9L9 and below as L9 would mean that you are not eligible to go outfield at all but signaller vocation still requires a fair amount of outfield.
Don't worry too much,life as a signaller at the Brigade/Div level tend to be more relaxing then at the battalion level but that is not always the case.I'm not too sure about the unit but if I were to make an educated guess,I would say that you will likely end up manning the comm store with your PES.Are you IC1 or 2?
Take comfort in the fact that you do not have to do SOC and IPPT while those PES A and B signaller still have to do it yearly

Alot of PES C get signallers, its 1 of their only combat vocation possible.

yep many pes c people are posted as signallers, but hq bridage level is not so physically demanding..
but i have serious misgivings about people asking whether this unit is stay in stay out etc, already goes to show what kind of mentality and attitude you have.

Ppl who ask abt stayin stayout super common lah. Ask yourself whether you would have ask if you had gotten an unknown vocation. Curiousity is normal.

for me, i always expected myself to stay in throughout my whole 2 years. i found out about it naturally after being posted to the unit. maybe thats why im one of the few who gets stay out? cause i didnt long for it.

Dude, i think u rather stay in than stay out if u are posted there. IIRCyou should be staying in anyway.

thanks for all the replies. and yes i have intent of leaving and i will go and see a specialist about this. well, you may not understand why i would want to stay out. i have 1 year left and for the past 6 months plus, ive been working in an office environment; 8 to 5.
also, because of my past experience with staying in camp, im honestly quite traumatised. you may say that its a form of escapism and perhaps, a very negative and relenting attitude that i portray, but if you were in my position - i just fear even having the thought of staying in.
its just so mortifying for me.
anyway, do you guys know anything about hq 3 sib? i heard from my friends, its quite bad. But im still doubtful. Please enlighten me.

See specialist also i doubt you can revocate. PES C you not the only 1 who go signaller so just accept that fact and grow up. Everyone face problems and running away won't help. If you choose to runaway from everything, you will be really living a pathetic life.

i didnt make it sound that way, you just presumed i did. well at least i know that i didnt run away from my fears, but instead came to face it unlike you..now tell me what is so fearful about staying in that if 90% of the nsfs can do it, why not you?

I don't know what's wrong with the kids nowadays, stay out is a previlige not a necessity for all NSF out there. When u get enlisted you must have this mind set for staying in.

stay in is better if the unit you in th far from your home. u can save money and eat in camp.

the truth is that they dun give a shit to wadever medical excuses you have when they post you.
I am C1L2. excused loud noise vocation, loud noise environment and grenades due to hearing loss.
so, as a result, i have never been to range, even during bmt. never shot a single round. never even attempt BTP. (BMT OC did not allow me to go range, as it is classified as a "loud noise environment".)
still ended up in a combat vocation.

but the qn is, do u go for outfield? [but excused from any form of firing/throwing of grenades] quite understandable that nowadays for all C1 from L1 to L3, bo bian more of them have to go to direct-combat vocs liao..
as for loud noise, good earplugs should be able to help.
