hi all,
i went for my medical review and the doctor told me i am suffering from this "autonomic nervous dysfunction" which explains my faintings. He came to this conclusion based on the findings of the "tilt test"
i am devestated by this news cause the doctor told me i am unfit for combat.
i wanna ask what pes will i mostly likely fall into ?
and can i appeal for a higher pes ?
EDIT.
i have received my medical summary and i am pes E9L9.
i seriously don't know what is Autonomic Nervous Dysfunction , why is it like so serious ?
i have NAFA silver, so i am quite puzzle as to my pes and that dysfunction.
can someone/MO kindly explain to me ?
in war if u keep on fainting, not only it endangers yaself but also ya comards would have
hell of a time carrying u back to medical post in midst of the firings, also a high chance of
getting ya comardes killed either by stray bullets or intention fire in the process while he is
being burdened by a comatosed you. do u wanna live with that guilt for whole life?
to answer ya questions :
chances are i believe will be PES E...only can do clerical and stationary guard jobs..
if your conditions are permanent, it's unlikely..
It's advised not to 'act garang' and ask for a PES A/ B when the doctor classified you as PES C/ E. You will end up getting your medical conditions worsened while serving.

now i really feel like a piece of worthless meat......
long time health is more important that the garang feeling in ns. Not that I understand the urge to be garang though

Lol, funny how you let a 2 years liability define your worth as a person. While others prefer an easier life as a conscript, you're so gung ho and affected.
Patriot eh? I don't know, but you'd definitely make a good case study
Sigh.... another Counterstrike fanboy who thinks that garangness == honour and glory.... I've hammered quite a few of these chaps over the years....
Believe me, kid, going home to your mother in one piece is also just as honourable and glorious as being a chiong sua Rambo wannabe.
If anything, think about it.... if you're going to faint in the middle of a firefight, you will be a worthless piece of meat. If you faint during an artillery bombardment, you will be a dead piece of meat. Is there any honour and glory in being a liability to your comrades?
Don't even talk about actual war.... do you really want to have a fainting episode at the top of the Jacob's Ladder during SOC training?
Now, be a good soldier and give the specialist's letter to the CMPB medical officer. You will most likely be classified PES C9L9 or PES E.
btw.. in Counterstrike, most of the time, the player is killed right?
still, consider this: you want to cheong sua pek hai, don't cause the others around you to die trying to save you.. because if you are a liability to the unit, and you insist on going, you'll end up being fragged by your own people for being a danger to them, the unit and the mission..
never heard of
autonomic nervous dysfunction....

I tot it's C9L1 because the L1 is where is the disease afflicting which is the nervous system or head.

L9, L1, E, anything.
I just don't want to see this fella get PES A or B from wilfully withholding information from the CMPB MO.
Prophecy_master,
One of the hallmarks of maturity is to be responsible.
Don't hide your condition to the CMPB MO. Your safety, and the safety of your future unit/mates are at stake if you choose to hide your condition and you suffer an attack while in training.
Some of the advice above are given by people who have medic experience, so please heed their advice.
just get downgraded lor
later anything happend
they only pay u 2000 bucks nia
not worth it lar

besides, singapore is where i am born, is my country my home, what is wrong with wanting to protect singapore ?
i want to make the best use of my NS, and serve my nation to the fullest play my part as a singaporean male, bear arms and defend all that is important to me.

i am not thinking about honour and glory also, i just wanna do my part and serve the nation in the best i can.

ya, i will heed their advice, i just feel disappointed with myself.

Disappointed? Why? Because you cannot serve your country as a chiong sua warrior?
Like I said, there are many paths to honour and glory. If you cannot be in the front line, then be a good rear echelon personnel. Be a conscientious and hardworking service medic/clerk/storeman/driver.That is also a true path to glory.
I know of many people in such vocations who are actually very fit but are there because of some bad knee/back/ligament/whatever. So, really, what's the shame?
being chiongster in the battlefield is not only the glory thing typical in the military...i believe the logistician and those in transports/clerical play very important part too in war such that the combatants can fully concentrate on fighting and keep things moving smoothly...not to forget those in SCE, where they clear mines for chiongster to move on and set up mines to deter enemy and also set up bridges where transport can move across a body of water to the objective...while artilery softens the enemy as such that the infantrymen can clean up occupy...

yeah...
no medics to put 1st aid stuff on riflemen when injured on frontline, jia liat
no signaller to radio air support to command hq, jia liat
no storeman for logistics and driver to drive tonner truck to deliver food, water and ammo bullets, jia liat
no clerk to do paperwork, administrative matters and documents all jammed up, jia liat
Better declare your medical condition. Don't become an emergency case in our medical centre's resuscitation room. If you die, all the medics and MO die with you.

yar SingaporeMacross is correct. TS...in this case MO and medics all are NSFs like u and we...we just wanna get ot over and done with smoothly...pls dun sabo ya fellow NSFs/NSmen like ourselves in order to advance your garang-ness..it will only invite resentment and hatred from ya mates only..
