ADF? what they do? if its classified then ofcos i dun wanna know
Originally posted by Fatum:eh dude .... either your friend smoked you, or you are deliberately sowing disinformation, being the self confessed chao keng you are.
if you signed on the dotted line, the SAF won't terminate your contract, but redeploy you to something else .... to follow up on the sing fellow's example, there are fellows who got injured and downgraded to even log and tech side vocations .... that's why you sometimes see fat fuck and blatantly unfit regulars around in camp, the type that can never pass IPPT ..... those were downgraded regulars .....
but of course ... if you don't like the jobs assigned, or request to break the contract, then of course .... you have to pay back the incentives and lump sums ....
you think what ? take the sign on bonus they give you, go chiong and buy bike or whatever, then break a leg to get out of it ah ? ...
If I remember correctly, you are only consisted a "regular" after you are have pass out from course. For example, SAF would not consider you as a TRUE SAF scholar unless you pass out as an officer.
For example my uncle is an SAF specialist, but he has downgraded from Pes A to B, B to C over years. From infantry to mantainance warrant over the years.
But if you get injuryed during BMT then the game is different.

I don't think that's true ... I know of a chap who signed on as a hendon regular after an NS stint in the police force ....
I guess army life wasn't what he expected, quite a shock from police NS I suppose, neways, he signed on, got a big fat sign on bonus, and proceeded to live it up ... halfway during BMT he hurt his back and OOC'ed .... they offered to revocate him to a log side vocation while he healed, or switch vocations permanently, he didn't want to, and chose to break the contract ... and was stunned when he was asked to pay back the monies ... I mean, what do you expect ? right ?
then there's another chap I know, signed on guards, got injured during GCC, downgraded, but he ended up switching vocations and became a munitions tech ....
and you're right .... many of those log and tech side regulars were combat side downgradees .... you'll only be asked to break the contract if you're convicted of some military or civilian offense, like this armour regular I know, who got charged with drunken driving while in an SAF vehicle or something like that .... his contract was terminated, and he had to serve out the reminder of his stint as an NSF, cos every 2 days as a regular counts as one day as an NSF or something like that.
Nowadays that is their culture...
My friend Regular twisted knee and soft bone something wrong, terminated contract..
But my friend is still OCT, wonder if it makes a diff since urs is already unit base
sign the dotted line and pay the price for the price.

Ya lah. Now supply is more than demand mah so SAF can afford to be choosy.
Tell that to the idiot Fatum so that he can wake up his idea. I don't even want to waste time replying to such a ignorant person like him

It is a classified unit alright.
If it's a classified unit, then the matter should be resolved through internal channels. Why even bring it out here?
