I was wondering whats the rank for poly graduate in NS?
Some of my friends said that graduates will be a sergeant? Those with leadership will be sent to OCS? Is that true?

There is a chance for you to be a sergeant or an officer. But there is always the chance that you will be a man instead.
Leadership batches would have high chance of sispec or ocs, if u perform fairly well and express interest,
Normal batches also can but smaller number?!?!?
Or be men all the way for some coys..
But what are the chances like? Kinda confused about such things.
That 1 really cannot say...
But usually Men-Only coys are ITE graduates..
Poly will def have chance for commanders' course...
Heard that school two has more commander's coy as well..

I would say the majority of the intakes nowadays would be at least poly or JC grads .....
then how ? ... everyone be sargeants and officers ? .... all chiefs and no indians ? ....
Thats y lor... got commanders batch, maybe 10 or 20 percent got chance go commanders' course...
Normal batch maybe 5 or 10 percent??

Coy means company. 8 to 15 men form a section, 4 to 6 sections form a platoon, and 4 to 5 platoons form a company.
You will understand more once you enter NS.
Man basically means those who are not commanders, meaning those below 3SG ones.
oh i see..now i unds..haha..alright..hope i learn more in NS

U better train hard to pass them cos it would be very hard to become a spec or officer if you cannot even pass your IPPT
but i am enlisting early in june not july for the dunno what training course

That is the case for officers, but not for sergeants.
During my period in NS, I heard from one of the OOCs from a BSLC company that more than half his company failed IPPT. That was during Guard Duty, and the rest of his OOC pals also admitted that none of them passed IPPT. It seemed that the bar has dropped a lot...

PTP. That means you will have 4 weeks of physical training before your 9 weeks of BMT.
yes. i would prefer them to force me to train rather then me training myself. i need motivation and sometimes shouting to give in my best. Excercising independently is somehow difficult for me due to the time management.

I am June PTP batch also... Dun worry PTP batch got commanders coy one..
Anyway i think the fail IPPT, maybe they go SOC then Route March then fail IPPT, then sispec?

Did u ask them why they OOC? As far as i know to get your 3SG rank IPPT pass is required.
If even logistics can withhold a promotion till IPPT is passed, combat side cannot be worse than logistics

I love ur mentality.... my mentality was, fuck i hate exercising...
but still luckily i can seriously run, 10 plus min at the first mock run... that makes life easier liao...
These days all tekong batches are leadership batches already unlike the past where there are a few non leadership batch in tekong.

They ooc as privates, so no questions there.
As for the rest of their coy, I guess they probably make the mark only after going through BSLC or they drop out.

All are leadership batches which means all have high chance to go command school. Those that used to go for non leadership batches these days all become direct intake to units liao.
