Sign On: RSAF AOSS, Good?

hi guys,i jus ord on 12/6 tis year and today jus recieved a letter + call frm air force recruitment asking whether im still interested in signing on as an AOSS ( which i applied during bmt and was reject because can only sign 3 months b4 ord )
i serve my 2 year as infantry rifleman so kinda physically xiong and all the stupid saf thing nt the issue.main concern is wad does AOSS do.my qualification is higher nitec in electrical engineering.
main reason y i wanted to sign on,i love a military career so hoping to make it a career.plus nw recession don't think can get decent job.my family side alot regular and my uncle was a senior tech,doing pretty well and earning quite a decent amount i tink but he been posted to US for 2 years so cant ask him about AOSS stuff.
my main question is,is the prospect good for a higher nitec to sign on?is there even a slightest chance to convert to an officer?i guess no rite?
wads the entry pay?gt 1.9k?im 22 tis year,is it abit old?
wad kind of thing should i expect in a AOSS regular life.is it shift work?
hope AOSS regular or ex regular can advice me.kindly refrain from posting stuff like " DONT SIGN ON LA WILL REGRET " stuff..thanks

I have a friend who serve as AOSS specialist during NS time. He say is a stressful job but routine. Anyway if you like air force career, just go for it. But dun join for money sake, u may regret it. I believed in terms of physical & comabt fitness, you should be much better than those pure RSAF candidates since u serve 2 years in infantry. Imagine clearing ATEC, overseas exercise, SOC, these are enough for you to endure AOSS training.

its farked up..working shifts and not doing the fun stuff like controlling planes in the tower.
the cloest you'll ever become is a ground assistant.
more often then now, you'll be behind the scenes in bcp or some certain radar unit.

singmarine , haha ye didn't really aim for money if nt will sign adf or navy liao haha alot $$ !! i love military life despite my 2 year in 3sir wasnt tat great.well it was fantastic with the lotsa oversea training ( 3 ) and lots of cool but heavy UO eq but still ..zzz
stellazio , u sound like someone frm AOSS haha,mind telling me more?u have msn or something?anyway ground assistant is wad?like those in movie u see the guy wid headphone and doing hand signal for the pilot 1?lol

u gonna go through sispec to get ur 3stripes den follow on with their courses, if u r a riflemen in ur unit wif pte, lcp, cpl...

Actually I nearly signed on as a WSO C3 officer in 2003 after my studies but I withdraw due to personal reason.
Though I am satisfied with my private sector career now, perharps one of the regret in my life is never sign on. If I have a choice again, I will defintely sign on & pursue my dreams!!!

ADF i thought is damn low? Some people i knew back then wanted to sign on to ADF but they changed their minds after they found out the pay is only $1200. Of cos ADF you can sign on as a man cos it is purely regular entity. Maybe that is the pay for the man only.

Maybe compared to working as a blue collared job earing less than $1.5k, sign on ADF is more attractive.

1.2k most likely ppl wid below N level,likely PSLE or something.
b4 i ord,adf had increase their bounty to 18k IIRC or 22k.as higher nitec if i sign as adf spec around 2.1k per month. frm regular i heard they get like extra 200 combat allowance iirc and every month they will take ippt for extra 200 ( silver ) or 400( gold ) .so quite high seriously.

I believe that IPPT payout is for only once a year?

I suggest u hear from SAF careers centre. The info is more updated there. Coz the career plan & benefits are always changing. So long as u like it, just go for it!!!
