Hi peeps,
I ORD in September this year. my unit wants us to apply ALL leave by June (before 3 months before we ORD).
We cannot take leave during the last 2 weeks prior to ORD.
Is this a standard practice? My friend in another unit can take/ keep leave up to his very last week...
different unit different policy.
i believe TS's unit is trying to prevent people from taking leave last 2 weeks in mass , like most people would like to 'forward' their ORD date what minus the coming back to unit to collect your pink IC part....like that no people in unit for those 2wks how?
heh. do u know how difficult it is to get people to clear their fucking leaves...ORDing without clearing of leaves causes an admin lapse...
taking leave up to the very last week is probably because it's the leave clerk's job...

It is not a standard policy, and it is up to your unit.
The only standard policy is that NSFs are not allowed to take continuous leaves/OIL for more than 2 weeks in a row just prior to ORD. And by 2 weeks, it includes weekend.
you only have 10 days of leave this year. Advice you to clear bit by bit instead of all at one shot. But applying by this june sounds insane. You never know what may happen in the last 3 months...
If you need a suggestion, I can tell u one.
Try for a 2 day work week in august. By the last week of aug, you'll be done clearing up your leave. All you have to do is just tell your admin spec in advance and they'll settle it with i think...s1 Branch?
my unit got many manpower.. just that those ORD in Sept is involved in NDP... so all saturdays till late August burnt.. hardly the mood for clearing leave..
my friends n I decided to clear on normal weekdays liao.. its like clearing for the sake of it!
