NS: Can I Transfer from SCDF/SPF to SAF, Possible? Can? How?

  Why go SAF? SCDF pay more, and when you ORD, they dont even strictly insist on passing IPPT.( From what i gather from my SPF/SCDF friends)

  Adding on to TS question, is it possible for regular SCDF to transfer to regular SAF when you're near the end of the SCDF bond? Any possibility to carry the bond over to SAF? Also, are there any advantages/disadvantages for transfering from SCDF to SAF? eg. exemption of BMT or shorter OCS?

  Never see regular scdf transfer to saf before lay. SAF regular transfer to scdf ...tons of them...   Dont think got exemption of anything.... diff type of training..

   Army                                              SCDF

  BMT-3month                                  BRTC-7weeks (I failed my IPPT)

  Spect Course -6months               ERS-6months -fire fighter SGT course

  OCS-9months                               BOC-9months -Officer course

                                                          Fire fighter course -3months.Post out as PTE

  Quite disappointed when i saw i posted to SCDF. During that time my friends all laugh at me. When i get my first SGT pay, i laugh back them... 1 year 365 days, 1 year 120 duty, so rest of the 245 days i'm staying at home during my NS days.

  Was curious for SCDF and SPF officers, do they have the mandatory retirement of 45 and now 50 thing?

  For SCDF officers, the retirement age is 55, while the retirement age for SPF officers is 50.
