Two days ago, I fell down while
pulling some of the things in camp. I was thrown backwards with my back
falling onto the ground as the thing I was pulling was heavy and then
it snapped. I somewhat hit my back but I just got up and continue
working as I needed to get it done first.
I have a history of chronic pain but the specialist wasn't able to find
out the actual cause to it. I am still PES B fighting fit. Yesterday,
someone told me that I could report the incident and maybe after my NS
period, medical fees regarding my back could be subsidised.
How would the SAF determine if such subsidy could be granted after I
report the incident? I believe they can't just give such subsidy to
anyone who reports it.
I am asking because I do not know if I should report it as I mentioned,
I often have pain on my back and is quite difficult for me to feel if
the fall yesterday. And if this is the case, it is also difficult for
SAF to judge whether I was hurt due to work or not. Moreover, I heard
that reporting such incidents will alert some high level management in
my unit and my name would be reflected. Who knows later they think I
chao keng then will not be nice either. So I am wondering if it is
worth the trouble to report or not.
