alright, thankls for the info guys!

You know the SOF guy (singular) very well. Hell, you may even know two.
That doesn't mean you know how it goes in SOF. I ask again: were you at Hendon Camp? If so, how much time did you spend there and in capacity?
I suggest you sit quietly by the side and let the guys who know what they're talking about do the talking. Stop trying to impress 16-year-old boys with your bullshit.
If sign on so good, why not stay in SOF for life. Why finish contract, must leave? They enjoy their life, right? Or they retire?
Why not you sign on or stay?
Why my friend is a CDO officer did not sign on? Actually he wanted to, he was displeased with something. So pissed off that he decided to ORD instead.
I am not from Hendon Camp. SOF operation is supposed be "secret", and I would not want to relieve anything here? And I have forcefully forget them since I ORD.
I remember there is case that someone from SOF died during water trapping exercise. It is in the news, M@nvvhore you can check it out. From there you can infer what they do, and how they train.
Fame me if you want, I really meant what I say. Silly. LOL
chill la.
just a stereotypic views, thats all.
there are always exceptions where potential scholars don't sign on and the list goes on....

Ah, now you change your story again. First you say:
Originally posted by Lokey:If one can go to Uni and be a White Collar then one would NEVER sign on as a SOF.
Now you shift the goalposts and say it must be so good? Make up your mind please - is it they have no other options and therefore sign on, or is it that they sign on because the life is so good?
You want to tell me that you mean what you say? You don't even know what you're saying because you keep swapping stories!

Wah, so cloak-and-dagger leh! Lemme guess - if you remembered what you knew about SOF and told me, you'd have to kill me immediately?
Listen up and listen good, sport. You're nothing but a Walter Mitty and your wayang couldn't be more obvious if you stuck flares on it. I've told you before you're a wannabe and a nobody, and your time's better spent trying to deal with the reality of what a pitiful creature you are rather than trying to impress schoolboys with tall stories.

Exactly. Some people choose to sign on and some choose not to. Our armchair Rambo here paints a picture that you sign on when you've got nothing else going for you.
a wtf thing happened here.
To balance the argument abit, SOF people are NICE (To outsider?).
How I meet the SOF commander is interesting?
That is many years ago, I can remember it is an operation, I am on cover, in the evening, chatting to Safety WO. Super Sianz! Then when the operation late at night is over, a guy in brown T-shirt and black shorts hop by and tap on my shoulder and say "Thanks!".Then I turn around and ask the WO who is that guy. He said our SOF commander loh!!??. Should nt I agree him "SIR". WO say "Yes". If you are one of us, you sure got "extra" for speaking rudely to our boss. But ... Too bad we need you. I did not know I am so important to them, I am just a small rank cockroach.
They are nice people, I am BAD guy (NSF) wah? Dont expect me to do so many stuff. Sianz.
Close operation and working with them is fun. SOF and CDO are also very nice people. If not arrowed, I would not volunteered to entertain them. But I know that I am really important to them.

Our cooks, clerks and storemen are important to us. What's your point?
Entertain them? Are you a MDC bapok?
If you talked the kind of cock to them that you're talking here, see how nice they'll be.

You win! If you dont believe what I say, its up to you.
No, this part I believe. Hell, when I was in the battalion, I kept close contacts with my service-side guys because they're the oil that keeps the combat-side engine running. Of course each man is important for the job he does, and the pros are humble enough to know that von Clausewitz was right: amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics.
I'm just wondering why you've specifically posted to make a big deal about something as obvious and ordinary as this is. Do you really feel the need to tell people how important you are?
You're pathetic.

Sorry, I don't really like to entertain them. I ask them to faster finish, faster go. I want to secure and go home early. They are really insane people to me. They know me and try not to drag my time and give me trouble. They are nice people. but is their duty so they also dont have a choice.
Kind of fun to work with them, but I dont like them to be around, as they give me trouble. Trouble. Extra Work. Trouble. Extra Work.
You're not there to entertain them. You're not there to do them any favours either. You're there to do your goddam job. Get it?

Yeah, we go deep.
Moral of the story is if you are not one of "them" or work with them before, you shouldnt comment on them. Frankly speaking i dont think our Govt would entrust a critical job to a bunch of "sadists" or "insane" guys. If not, no need to have selection, we could just round up the fellas in IMH and make an ad hoc CT team.
One point though, some might chose to leave due to the money reasons: Private Security Firms pay top dollar to hire ex-special forces soldiers for B/G and protection jobs. It happens in other countries also.
And being in the unit doesnt mean you stay there for 20 yrs and then retire. They have to serve appointment tours in "green" units at one point in their careers to make the payscale and rank. Not all would want to do that. Lastly not everyone could be in top form for the rest of their lives, something got to give at some point of time.

Exactamundo to everything you've written there.

Yeah, it gets like that when losers desperately clutch at straws to puff themselves up by the most miniscule of margins.

Lol Ged. I didn't want to comment in this thread till you popped in...
Not busy in kangaroo land seeing patients?

Officer go through OCS ... is an another path ...
You are talking about an SAF scholar, which is a total different story.
"The current SOF commander was from my batch in 1CDO." <-- is a commando background, right?
Anyway the two guys you have mentioned I know them very well, and they sure know me, well. Nice guys for me. But dont know about you.
AND I am pretty SURE I REALLY know the SOF guy very well. AND the boss have treat me WELL also. BUT I really hate them, because THEY ARE EXTRA WORK for me. NO CHOICE. SAF. OK, they know their stuff.
M@nvvhore <-- If you are talking about officer, SAF scholar level then it is a total different story. The GAME is different. What is your education level?
Hey Lokey - did you know stooky back 2 years ago? He used to post things like you.
"and they sure know me, well. Nice guys for me. But dont know about you", "BUT I really hate them"
Make up your mind leh..

you aren't the only one.
Ged, a possible diagnosis of ICD-9-CM 318.2?
So M@nvvhore, you're only 16? Well, that doesn't mean you can't aspire to join the SOF.
But you'll want to give yourself a little more time to find out about other options before you enlist. The main thing you can work on for now is you physical fitness. Go run 5km everyday and see if you can get your 2.4km timing to go into the 8min range.
Also, one thing I remembered too about the SOF guys...they all have colorful medical histories. I was in the same room once for a medical check-up in PLAB with about 8 to 10 of them. When the doctor asked about past injuries, it took about a half an hour for them to finish describing their various broken bones and stuff.

Hey Chan, long time no see!
You know I don't do crazy-people stuff - I gotta put wagyu and Billecart-Salmon on the table just like any other working stiff, and if someone's too busy being crazy to pay my fees, well, that's just bad.

Yeah, he sure looks like a window-licker to me. The irony is that he was on another thread trying to diagnose someone with ASPD and putting out invitations for research partners to look into some cockamamie story about genetics. It was so pathetic it was hilarious.
