Ok firstly, Im a service medic and im about to ORD soon. Any idea what service medics do during reservist? Whenever reservist battalions come to my camp for ICT, i never notice them having any service medics ( at least none that come to the med cntr)
Secondly, Im PES C9L2 currently. Does that mean my cycle is only 5 years instead of the usual 10? or is that just a myth.
service medics usually serve their 10-year ICT cycle at brigade / division level...
hence, their reservist NS units are therefore usually, e.g. HQ BDE / DIV...etc.
i have heard of service medics doing their ICT by supporting BDE / DIV level exercises, both local and overseas as well... something like e.g. an exercise empire's ambulance team on standby for emergency enroute to public hospital, just in case anyone doing their ATEC really injury and their platoon or BCS team cannot respond efficiently...
actually within 6 weeks prior to ORD, u can already check with ur camp S1 clerk which reservist unit u r posted to liao...
anyway, u will be getting ur reservist NS unit notification letter by post around 6 months after ur ORD...
Hmm okayy when you say support BDE/DIV level exercises, does it just involve being a cover medic for ATEC and other training activities? Or is there a possibility that i will get involved in BSC and other such stuff?
u will just be a safety cover medic under the exercise empire team.
