NSPC Holding List

Hi people.. i juz got notice frm my NS unit, i got posted out of my unit wef jan 09. Probably gt posted out due to deferments for studying but now since no more IHL status for university undergrads, so what does my posting to Holding list mean? Any lao chiao here can help out?

As the name would suggest,holding list means that you are part of a list of NSmen with no reservist unit but still liable for reservist.
If they are short of manpower and they feel that you can fill up the slot,they will call you.
Think of it like a lottery list except that no one in that list hopes to be selected

holding list means they just haven't assigned you to a new NS unit yet ....
I was on IHL/holding list for more than 5 years after I ORD'ed ... recently they told me I got assigned to a new, combat unit ......
oh, and the chap on the phone has a hot news flash for me ....
by this year, even those not assigned to an active NS unit (read: on holding list), will also be liable for IPPT .... you still have to book your slots and go work on your pull ups like everyone else ....

I am PES E and I also on holding list for the past years and I need to know how long will they take to notify me to go back reservist? I have not been called back for
reservist for many years already.

Technically speaking,they are still laible to be called up but reality paints a different picture....so if people kpkb why PES E no need reservist,mindef can say that they are still liable since they are still on holding list.

I think highly unlikely for you to be called back since I think they would prefer pes c NSmen to be called back first due to less serious medical background so that it will be easier to retrain them into different vocations that they might need,eg driver,signaller..etc. -

I am an NS clerk and I can perform clerical matter. I used to have a colleauge PES C after one reservist never kena called back again. -
With so many PES C and E ASAs around and so few admin positions to fufill within any one NS unit,who do you think they will prefer to call up if they have to call up one in the first place?
Both can do the clerical job but PES C has the flexibility of being arrowed extra things.PES E strictly no outfield,PES C depending on L code,can still go outfield.Why go outfield?Need more hands to help deliver ration/pol/water....
PES C can shoot range too which counts towards the best NS unit competition thing.
But that's only my opinion,how the system really works,no one knows...

ok thanx u all ppl here for helpin out... i also heard abt the thing tt we need to take our ippt no matter wad now... anw i Pes B technician for A veh leah... how? will kena revocate or wad anot.. i am sec comd trained...so will i kena any shit or revocate exercises or retraining?

me pes A combat engineer, did 4 years reservisit and now posted to NSPC... no medical problem, cleared IPPT and report back every year.

Hi all,
just received my posting letter. Similar to TS, I'm also in the holding list managed by NSPC. Was just wondering, what are my chances of being called back?
I'm PES C9L3. Vocation is Armour Technician.
