RILED by a soldier's poor work attitude, three of his colleagues beat him up one evening, with one of them hitting him with a helmet, umbrella and broomstick until the 19-year-old lay on the floor, semi-conscious and vomiting.
And when a medic later advised that the victim be taken to hospital immediately, two of the perpetrators loaded Mr Jagjeet Singh - who held the rank of recruit - onto a trolley, wheeled him to his bunk and dumped him on the floor.
On Wednesday, the three assailants were sentenced by a military court for the Dec 17 beating, which was so severe that the victim is still in hospital over a month after the incident in Bedok Camp 2 at Upper East Coast Road.

All three pleaded guilty. The main culprit, Lance-Corporal Nur Hilman Kassim, 23, was jailed three years and ordered to be caned six times. He will serve time in a civilian prison. Corporal Muhammad Fahmi Ibrahim and Recruit Hong Zhi Sheng, both 22, were sent to the detention barracks for six and four months respectively.
During the hearing at the Singapore Armed Forces' Court Martial Centre, the court heard that the three storemen had confronted their colleague at about 6.30pm on Dec 17, annoyed that his poor work attitude had landed them in trouble with their superiors.
The face-off was verbal at first, but it spiralled into violence when they became agitated by his blank stares and uninterested responses.
Sometimes Sabo King needs a "Party" to wake up their idea. But this time round the "Party" looks too serious.
WE HAVE blanket party not helmet party, broom stick party,
As they always say, if you get caught doing something illegal, too bad.
Whatever the chap's fault, giving him a beating never solves the underlying reason for his inability to work with the team.
wah .... must be a really bad chao keng kia to have kenna like that ......
last time blanket party was with blanket and fists only ....
lol they helped him to chao keng even more.
rofl
may even pes E.
maybe the victim got wat he wanted...
a downgrade...
/
500 dollars a month + a whole lotsa shit.. no wonder those 3 tulan the chao keng kia whom made their lives more miserable..

And get flogged in Changi. Sure, go ahead.. play hero.
Fights in camp are quite common but this one went too far.
Lulz this happen in my camp and I didn't even know.
that guy must be so damn sialan...
what for...now the 3 guys get criminal records for assault and the victim, maybe be more chao keng in hospital, then maybe come out give excuse like phobia of this and that then the superior cannot do anything else. Worth it?
Wah lau..... if you don't like someone's poor work ethic, bring it up the chain of command.
No matter how screwed up your colleague may be..... getting whacked on your butt six times and losing three years of your life is not worth it at all.
there's no reason to beat the guy up in the 1st place.
even if the guy chao-keng, they should take to him nicely and if cannot, report to superior to deal with the matter.
to go and use objects to beat the victim to such an extent is totally a criminal act.
the fact that the main culprit got caning is ok, but the other 2 seems to be getting away too lightly.

Well, good riddance to that moron..... this is what happens when one thinks with his willy instead of his head.
Three of the best years of his life gone kaput..... six long scars on his buttcheeks.... still have to finish off his NS liability.... family's name gone down the drain..... all for what? If the victim was the ultimate kengster, then he's just not worth beating up.
get someone to beat up the kengster outside!
wa lan jus whack him outside la
This one over the top man, the victim must be a really chao keng, bochap to the max to get that kind of beating. No wonder still recruit. But shouldnt have lynched him, get him all the shit work and weekend duty until he buay tahan better. i know of servicemen who are incapable of doing anything except sitting in office, staring at the wall.
Oh I heard about this bout a week ago from a friend of mine, apparently the victim is doing quite well in changi hospital and not as bad as reported.
And yes he was quite a b1tch in camp i heard. =)

of course he must have been quite a farker .... people don't whack another chap like this while in uniform for the fun of it .... everyone knows what's in store in DB ... and any infraction is doubly punished while you're in uniform .....
the chap's colleagues must have reached boiling point .......
I question the method .... but I don't wonder if the farker deserved it or not ....
