anyone from K9 unit here? how is the work like?
can we book out everyday? is there no chance of getting 8-5?
and the is the responibility very high as we have to take care of both rifle and dog?
and is there a lot of "sai kang" involve?
how is it compared to normal rp? which is better?

i think it is quite difficult for any guard personnel to get a 8-5?

Dog handlers RPs are more siong in the sense that they have to guard Airbase and all the sensitive places, and they even have ranks (RP's own rank, not the SAf one). Then must go outfield and clear SOC also. The course is three months in whatever unit you are posted and you are botak until you pass your RP course in that unit then can grow hair.
Prowlings is by vehicles since it can go up to 26km in perimetres.
2 person will be assigned one dog and I heard you guys must come in on weekends to clean the dog kennels then can go home after that.
Some RPs are 8 to 5 if they are in a combat unit where there are soldiers doing guard duty (one or two will stay back to be guard 2).
Compared to normal RP, dong handlers rps are more siong but then more "prestigious".

huh! what i heard is the course is only 2 wks..stay in..aft tt u get posted to somewhere near ur house to prowl with ur dog..not 100% sure though.
but i am currently in the RP course, any1 else?

Any MPs here can confirm? I'm not from MP but i used to pass by Mowbray camp at yew tee. I distinctively remember seeing the words "K-9" in big block letters outside mowbray?

relax.
most of the dogs are okay de.
just abit hard to control at first or when do baiting.
after awhile you will get used to it.
you wont be so suay like me.
kena dog bite this morning.
now got puncture wound.
