I've been wearing leather boots for a year already.
But the problem is, under Singapore's humid weather, my feet will tend to develop rashes when wearing boots. The skin will harden, die and peels off. Foot powder and foot glides have only limited effects.
So I would like to clarify before recklessly spending the money (or credits): is Gotex Boots really better for ventilation, more comfortable and healthier for the feet, or is it just a myth (like what some of the commanders claim)?
lets put it this way..
ive worn my current gotex boots for 6 months now and i havent changed back to wearing leather ever since.
with the exception of parades.
Actually the Gotex boots are quite comfortable....much more coolling.
I hate the goretex boots, especially during river crossing. i prefer the old type SAF leather boots with insoles bought from emart.
has it's perks and cons.
more mobility but lesser support on the ankles.
more airy too
gortex also keep less water out.
