I have a question, can i defer my RT?
I fail my IPPT by 2 station and my window closed because i took it before my current semester exam. The schedule that they assign to me for RT starts in March, during my Mid-Term of school, where tests are going on.
The RT schedule also stretches till it reaches around exams period. Looking at the timing, i can't fulfill the weekday training schedule either as both options given to me collide with my lessons.
However, after this semester, I have a 3 month holiday which starts around May, but this is after the 5 months allowance I am given. I was hoping I can defer my RT till this holiday period.
Is there any hope? If there is, what should i do?

Call up to explain. If they cannot help then dun turn up for RT. Take down the name of the person you talked to. Go for your exams. Wait for charge letter. Prepare decent uniform and haircut for charge at CMPB, dun be late. Tell thr officer the whole situation, apologise and say positive things. Pay $50, $100, or nothing, depending on factors like your situation, rank, sincerity, or past performance.

The best thing you can do now is to train up for IPPT for the next few months and then pass it during RT-IPPT. Then no need to go for RT anymore for 2 years +
BTW, I remember you can choose your starting RT period. If you dont want to go for March ones, then go for January ones.

Ya i think you can skip the whole RT period and just need to pay $50 or $100 but you have to go down to CMPB in full uniform. But next year onwards, you have to go for RT.

It seems that now, the unit will just assign an RT schedule for those who do not take ippt. In my case , my unit put me down for a march-may schedule at frigging bedok camp when i live in woodlands zzzzzz.
anyhow, i called the 1800 thingy and explain to the CSO. cso told me, she will relay my request for a new schedule to my unit. so TS may want to call up the CSO to request to go for RT earlier

This doesn't make sense. The person has to go for RT, but can't because of work/school commitment, so he default and miss RT. Then he receive red letter asking him to answer charge. He go down, pay fine $50/$100 and no need to do RT for the new window? Sounds like a good deal man!
I thought the procedure was when you pay the fine, they will make you sign up for the next available RT schedule for that year?

Oh yea before i forget, in my case last year 2008, i was on medical excuse. And the system still cock up and book me for RT. In the end i got the letter. But i fight back with my medical excuse with MO endorsed so they waived the RT.
So basically unless you have a medical condition, there isn't any way to make RT go away. Best case scenario is they book a later schedule for you.
