Motivation Influence

Gentlemen, faced with bo chap men who try to siam work and duties, and useless WOSPEC regulars, how do you motivate your men not to be so chao keng?
Remember, you are only a NSF 3SG with no powers and yet lots of crap collects on top of your chevrons everyday.

Reason with them and show them that chao keng leads to long-term suffering for all of them.
Sometimes, just treating them to lunch and a good pep talk works wonders.

giving them regular pay work wonders...but our greedy govt. prefers to lose money in oversea innestments than use this money to benefit own citizens..

Yup, treat it as a test of your managerial capability. It's harder in NS because your chaps all hail from different backgrounds, have different mentalities, and if you can forge a sense of community with them, it's an acheivement in itself.

I've tried plenty of ways but at the end of the day they will still think of self-interest. Sometimes I wonder if my sacrifices are in vain.

Sometimes i give tell them, give me some face lar, next time i help u all siam ...
but then u must really keep ur word ... It is tough to siam arrows and act blur for ur men. But they will be grateful, someday ... -
