most old old male WOs r old timers from the now-defunct saf boys school...
http://www.mindef.gov.sg/ns35/nstory02.asp
The SAF Boys' School was set up within Changi Airbase to take in 14 - 17 year old boys of pre-enlistment age who were less academically inclined. The School gave them an opportunity to study and to join the SAF as regulars. These boys were given a balance of military and academic training. Teachers seconded from MOE worked there to prepare them for 'O' levels.
The School was divided into Combat Wing, where boys were trained to become Combat NCOs (WOSEs), Service Wing, which brought up our supply vocationalists, and lastly, Technical Wing, which trained the boys to become Technical specialists

ask him play it big or smoothen the flame...?
follow PM LHL's son, LTA(NS) Lee Hongyi, played with fire using the OA email saga last year... he email the story of 'a regular officer late for work to take over his guard duty duty officer shift' problem to big boss, and CC it to all in mindef as well.
