you must be one of those 'weak links'. people can die frm anything sure walking on the road only if they kena langa. Langa by a truck is the cause of death.
BUT for people who die during NS training its not langa by a truck. It's cos they are dying frm doing the 6th chin up, which is laughable. It's cos they are dying frm doing a simple combat-support (as opposed to combat) OCS course for NSF(as opposed to regular) course in brunei. It's cos they are dying from WALKING (as opposed to running) 2.4m and worse, they drop dead at the 1.2m mark. Which is ridiculous. You just can't accept that you are a weak link. A spade is a spade.

Sudden Death Syndrome is a disorder of the electrical system of the heart that can lead to the death of apparently healthy people without any warning.
Pls do your research...

Since you have nicely pinned the blame on Sudden Death Syndrome so as to say new breed of Singaporeans are not weak, then you have effectively also admitted you can't blame SAF. Very good. There's at least 1 Singaporean who doesn't have the *can't see self in mirror* syndrome.

Singapore Heart Foundation launches CPR training kit
SINGAPORE: If you have 30 minutes, you could potentially save a life.
The Singapore Heart Foundation feels more heart attack victims can be saved if more people learnt simple cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills.
Sudden Cardiac Death is a emotional event because the victim dies without much warning.
But by "Knowing Your Risk", which is the theme of this year's 37th annual Heart Fair, adjustments can be made to lifestyle habits to maintain a healthy heart lifestyle. The fair is held in conjunction with World Heart Day.
The Singapore Heart Foundation hopes to improve Singapore's out of hospital heart attack survival rate with the launch of an easy-to-use CPR training kit.
Out of a 100 patients who suffer sudden cardiac arrest outside a hospital, only two to three will survive. This may be due to Asians' reluctance to stop and help or simply ignorance.
The CPR3A kit hopes to change it all. It comes complete with a dummy mini doll. With it, laymen should be able to master basic CPR techniques in 30 minutes.
Dr Poh Kian Keong, Organising Chairman of National Heart Week, said: "We first start off with the students because we think they can learn rapidly, and using the multiplier effect, the students can teach their families and those around them."
Professor V. Anantharaman, Chairman of the Heart Safe Committee at the Singapore Heart Foundation, said: "One need not be afraid of doing it. In Singapore, we say if anyone can do it better, then we can do it. We can also have the best survival rate."
For every minute that CPR is not administered, a heart attack victim's chance of survival drops by 10 per cent.
So armed with such training, the Singapore Heart Foundation hopes more will be able to perform CPR anytime, anywhere. - CNA/de

yah lo dies without warning lor and without any symptoms to detect at medical test stage still got so many kao peh kao bu parents and ignorant freaks who blame SAF when its their own deficient genes. they say they so scared cos their own sons going to NS soon and why SAF can allow this to happen blah blah kena sai.. if their sons do enlist and then drop dead like the 3 so far, all we know for sure from the article you provided us is that it's their own deficient genes that they passed to their sons that cause their sons to drop dead.
Singaporeans like blame everyone but themselves. when they find got no one nearby to blame, they blame the govt. The DBS minibond issue is a shining example. I wonder what caused this lack of self introspection and lack of self awareness in Singaporeans. Such a young people whose culture is merely 40+ yrs old yet so unique and different from any other peoples in the world.

pls note that i am not trying to protect mindef/saf... there is a difference between really a training/service death and accidental self death (among several factors)...
even a typical MOM workmen compensation injury report, it will ask, 'is the worker performing a lawful act/official work for his job?'
machiam like accidents vs. freak accidents...
wrong time at the wrong place... just got driver (the culprit) car crashed into the bus stop, and a person just die like that, who is just unknowningly drinking his coke and happily playing his psp on the way to school... this kind of example...
and the DBS minibonds thing... the hongkong citizens had it better... they staged even bigger protest for their govt to pay them their money...

DBS is a commercial entity. Not a charity or govt organisation (though some dreamers are in dreamland and dream that GLCs are govt handouts). The ONLY reason DBS approved the HK thing is because the sums are much smaller to the point of negligible. It's nothing more than a commercial, business, calculated decision. The reason why these whiners can't accept it is because they still view DBS as their neighbourhood residents' committee centre and think DBS owes Singaporeans a living beyond functioning as a commercial entity.
Look, I took up a home loan NOT with DBS but with Maybank at first cos it gave me the best rates then. Why did I not support DBS even though it's a Singapore company and I am a Singaporean? Simply cos banks are now commercial entities and I'm aware of that and am at peace with it. Did DBS badger Singaporeans to support them over foreign banks?? They surely did not. My spouse stopped crediting salary into DBS account some time ago because we set up a Citibank account that gave us slightly higher saving interest. After my lock-in period ended for my home loan, I immediately shopped for a new one and found DBS to give me the most attractive rates in a promotion they had. Then we jumped to DBS from Maybank.
Banks in Singapore, with the exception of POSB that is still positioning itself to be a national-interest bank, function as 100% commercial entities and made no bones about it. No Singapore bank has ever hidden that fact or tried to communicate otherwise. No Singapore bank including DBS has ever coerced, pressured or pointed a gun to any Singaporean's head to make them give DBS any business on the account of citizenship, patriotism or any sort. DBS, like UOB and OCBC are fully commercialised and DBS never portrayed itself in any other way. I'd like to tell me when DBS ever played the nationalism card on Singaporeans. They never did. Neither did any of the other local commercial banks or companies.
Singaporeans I know around me all shop for banking services based on the best deal they find. if it's a foreign bank they dun care also. Yet when push comes to shove, as usual Singaporeans many of them being deadbeats and losers cry the nationalism card on DBS.
Singaporean crybabies, whiners & deadbeats should stop expecting everyone to nanny them. They should stop looking for elsewhere to blame when they get into fixes and when failing to find an immediate blame-target, they blame the government.
I wonder what caused this weird syndrome in many Singaporeans and this reliance on the state and the tendency to blame others or be spoonfed or nannied. I have not seen it in any other citizens of any country in my interactions with others from many countries whenever I go overseas with my spouse for work. It is totally disgraceful.
I hope any Singaporean still living in dreamland take the time to reflect on this. Look at yourself in the mirror first before thinking of blaming others. And when they find no one to blame, they blame the govt. So disgraceful.
The most amusing thing is how so many of these losers say they want to leave the country. I'll be laughing my ass off cos I know the foreigners will be appalled and laughing at them when they resettle anywhere else in the world with their deadbeat and give-me-handouts-the-state-owes-a-living attitude.
As a Singaporean, i fully support and encourage these Singapore deadwoods to leave Singapore for a better future for myself. Good riddance to rotten trash.

Wow, how much weed were you smoking? Did you ever realise that taking drugs is a punishable offence in Singapore? Have fun dreaming your delusions of grandeur in rehab.
While you are happily wishing Singaporeans to leave the country to leave a better life for you, little do you realise that your job will vanish in less than 5 years, and the only way you can earn enough to support yourself is by prostituting yourself to the superior foreigners. If you're a male, you can about just commit suicide. Foreign chicks would rather drink acid than ever bang you lousy asian sinkies. You will never know that the reason for your failure is your supposedly 'better' genes. No woman worth her vagoo will ever date any loser who had ever spent any time in the SAF.
Enjoy your delusions while we foreigners shaft you up the ass. ;)
