3SG NSF > Sign On Infantry Officer ?

my situation. i was out of course from Aslc and was posted to Dieppe Barrack to be an ops Spec, doing office work. was down pes to pes c. was very depressed but hey, i should not give up so please please advise me.
i beg the MO to up pes me again to pes B and i have since recover from my injury. i have the black and white that i have recovered.
the thing is i want to sign on as a infantry officer but i dont know what are the chances and how to go about?
Should i go for ippt and get at least a sliver to show the CMPB that i am still physically fit. get testi from my superiors? or just turn up at CMPB recuitment with only my medical results? i mean, how to i go about?
Please help, it has always been my dream since young, i didnt sign on at bmtc because of relationship issue, but its been settled. my gf gave me the green light to sign on.

more on history, i got injured because i was sect com for a attack mission.
had to carry my field pack plus sect com bag plus along the way i carried mathodor. march 6 km to the objective. my problem was i didnt strap properly therefore the blood flow to my arm was cut. after attack mission, went to defense mission. i didnt fall out as my friends depend on each other. we need to dig fire trench and own self-scrape. i completed the field camp with my arm still numb.
went to MO at sispec.... OOC.. sian...one more month to gradurate...

it has always been my dream and passion. i love the field camp, the mission. i love outdoor. but i have not try the command postion but i am willing to learn and go for it.
i kanna posted to ops spec at HQ guards, its like not what i want to do in my ns life. but i still must learn the ops spec job scope if next time i have to do staff job if the army accept me as officer.. plan to sign on till 45.

Most of the sign on specs who convert to officer that I know of are those that got golden bayonet that kind during sispec,best in PT etc...
Reality is that very few specs manage to convert to officer even if it is to sign on,unless it is for Air Force or those kind of specialized engineering officer post.
If you did not get selected for OCS crossover after your BSLC,then the chance is already quite low.
Nevertheless,you STILL have a chance.You might want to talk to your S1 or OC about your chances to convert to officer first.They will be the in the best position to advise you.In fact,talk to them about life as an infantry officer in the army and what is your potential CEP(Career End Point).They will give you the reality of what working in the army is like and whether they think you will be suited for it.The more direct route would be to contact ARC(Army Recruitment Centre) directly but they tend to pose a very "flowery" picture.
If your OC/S1/CO all say that you are not suited for life as a regular or your chances are low,then you will have a hard time because you need strong testimonials from them to convince ARC to convert you.A strong recommendation from a LTC always helps.
In the mean time,upgrade your PES first and clear your IPPT as that is a must before they will even consider you.If you do manage to convert,you might want to try out a short term contract of about 3 years first to see if you like that kind of life.
What I said is based on my observation of fellow NSF specs who tried to sign on as officer before I orded.

So baikachuchu, your advise is I should go for ippt first?
The thing is, I go sign up with the ARC online or should I get the testi from my bosses, 2lts, cpt, ltc and mwo before I go apply online??
But I doubt my ltc will help me leh…just have a funny feeling because he needs ops specs to help him with his job. Further more he is s3 for a battalion and I am the ops spec for his battalion..
So its not CMPB I should approach? Instead its ARC now?

u go the online application and see see look look 1st lor... see what the sections to type, choose, select...etc. -
haha...i tried online before when i was in aslc beginning... no luck leh...
should i request to go back aslc to train up?
i ask my captain, he told me since i was train the sispec way, i must go back to aslc and train again, complete it, either cross over from there or go unit and ask my OC to help me...
i dont know sia...i really dont know what clear steps to take..

find ur unit chief clerk or hq guards chief clerk 1st,
next higher is should be hq guards' formation chief clerk,
next higher is should be over there even got guards formation head of manpower LTC to seek help too... -

my fren, asa can help me with the manpower side (chief clerk).
go down to cmpb, ARC there and sign up. hopefully interview pass!

You are weird. Others cannot wait to get out and you are dying to get in.
Pardon me, but I don't think signing on is a good choice unless you don't see yourself in any other fields. You should think over other alternatives first. If you sign on, you are bonded. What if you don't like the regular army life after your contract, what are you going to do then, with the time spent inside while others in ur batch is already way ahead...

Yes,try to clear your IPPT soon.Make sure you get at least silver as the ruling is that regulars must get at least silver each work year or it will affect their career prospects.
Why I say the testimonials are important is because the moment you indicate interest in converting to officer for signing on at ARC,they will most likely send an email down to your unit asking for character and work references from your bosses. If they all give favourable reviews, you will have that extra backing.
Think of it this way...if a LTC/COL can fork out the time to write you a testimonial even if it is a short one,it does say alot about you.

Maybe what you're looking for is a career in the outdooor adventure field, maybe a camping instructor, expedition leader, etc. Maybe the army may not be for you. Have you ask the question, do you truly believe in what the SAF stands for, in its integrity (or rather lack of) and vision?

agree. TS can always look at other jobs first. and gf giving green light. what if next time u break up with her, lan lan sign on for nth? -

tink tis guy is 1 siao on guy.. its his gf who dun wan him sign on ba(maybe she also dun like the new #4)... actuali saw a few of these type who dying to sign on, get dirty... but after they sign on 2yrs liao can hear their complains... sign on also include politics, etc so hope hes prepared for it... -

Woa... SAF really neeed ppl like you.
But being an Infantry Officer.... I don't think you'll have that much 'hands on' opportunity compared to being an infantry spec.But to sign on, u must consider very carefully. Life in there isn't how u expect it to be.
As what gohysteria said, u can always consider something in the outdoor/adventure line.
Don't make a rash decision only to regret later... -
