Looks like they didn't forget me after all.
After some 5-6 years, they've finally dug a nice hole to throw me into. Something called 812 SIR. Any idea what is there and what I'd be supposed to be doing?
I'm a year 1 undergrad at NUS. How exactly is this supposed to work out for me? Will they call me up during my exam periods? I don't mind going back during vacations... but I think I will be VERY rusty....
Sigh.

Institute of Higher Learning Scheme (IHL)
(For NSmen pursuing their university education locally after ORD)
The IHL scheme is an initiative to help maintain the unit's integrity in NS. It allows those who are pursuing full-time studies in local Institutes of Higher Learning i.e. National University of Singapore (NUS) / Nanyang Technological University (NTU) / Singapore University of Management (SMU) and polytechnics, to remain in their NS unit. To make it easier for IHL NSmen to fulfil their NS obligations without disrupting their studies, MINDEF has a standing arrangement with the 3 local universities on a common "blackout" window for NS call-ups during the universities' semester vacation breaks. ICT call-up will be confined within these specified "blackout" periods and the 3 universities will ensure a total "blackout" of all academic programmes during this period. The blackout period for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates for 2007 and 2008 is shown in the table below:
Thanks very much! That was helpful!
So I assume 812 SIR is one of those units that are comprising of "Blacked Out" undergraduates?
I hope they update that table soon man...
