x2. even me last time everyday surf mindef forum, ask so many qns whenever i go to other camps and have some regular friends. still learning everyday. too many things abt saf la. -

usually OOC personnel are like wandering ghosts in camp......while everyone has a job and purpose and vocation, they just linger around the camp, walk here see there, watch TV, walk around talk to clerk, see the skies.....
last time my camp got 2 people like that, so OC give them sai-kang work, like as grasscutter escorts or escorts for contracters, or they'll be given a gun and stand at sentry post together with RP, open gates etc....or they'll be asked to collect rations for the camp.....some area cleaning.....and then, the rest of the time is what they do as listed in my 1st paragraph above. :-D
in the end, fate of OOC people usually is usually GE storeman, working under CQMS.

agree. chiong whole day will not learn anything. admin side can really learn and see alot of things. that's y i say my ns life is a satisfying one.usually ooc ppl in my camp got work to do one. chief clerk always call me give them work to do. so i give them do filing or put up those boliao posters. if not, just shred paper. tell them to act busy only when ppl around, if not, just slack.
best part, sometimes i call them help me buy drink if they go canteen break.
