I'm the guy doing the RO for my battalion.
Normally I just copy and paste an article from a folder of articles into the RO and add in additional information as they come.
But now I have fixed articles for different days, one article for tuesday and thursday, one for wednesday and random articles for monday and friday.
It made my duty easier, although my WO would make some noises like how come everyday RO so simple one.....but duh, my fmn's RO are also very short everyday.
However, I usually get fed up with nsf officers (JC students) who tends to nitpick on some mistakes not like everybody read the RO haha...
So all those servicemen who are in charge of doing RO, let's share your experiences in doing the RO.
suck thumb. u think your NSF officers are bad? wait till u see the DXOs in my camp. got 1 tense mistake they will also tell u publish again.
Erm, i'm considered luckier than u bros above. My coy RO done by that day's COS, don't know about other units or whether system has changed.
But during evening time can ask OC and CSM any announcement they have for the coy regarding next day's activities. If got nothing, just confirm the next day's Duty Officer, Duty Sergeant, COS, IC, can do out RO liao, then last parade read out. Occasionally Brigade Commander will make some announcements like beware of mosquitoes (dengue and all sorts of illness), training safety, or driving safety, can also include as a form of respect.
U guys still use terms like CDO (coy duty officer), CDS (coy duty sergeant)?
Our coy RO very simple, and our officers are close to us, same age same batch bmt somemore, so won't be picky. Maybe because you guys doing for Battalion, larger audience so need better presentation? Or politics between the personnel?
